Your Help
is Needed
As it says above, we need your Help in Finding out about this Cemetery
and the Soldiers that are buried here.
There is a little Cemetery near the Town of Smarr, Ga. south of
Forsyth, Ga., in the this cemetery are the remains of 6 of the South's forgotten Sons, we
would like your help in finding out about them and getting help to get them the Memorial
they deserve.
At this time all we known about the Cemetery is that it is on the land
of what was once the Old Methodist Camp Ground in Monroe Co, Ga. between Smarr and
Bolinbroke, Ga.'s. this was from what we have been able to find out was a Camp for
Soldiers of the Confederate Army and a Hospital as well not much is known beyond this, it
lays about 9 1/2 miles below Forsyth, Ga. on a Railroad track which seems to be abandoned
the land in own by Davis Milling Co. and they do not seem to know much about the burial
ground except that they were supposed to take care of it when they bought the land and
have not done so, Also we know that there were orignally 7 Soldiers buried there but 1 was
removed and returned home after the war by his Family, this in it self is a good clue.
I'm hoping that by posting this on the Confederate Cemetery Website,
someone will come forward that may have information or just pieces of the puzzle that we
are looking for.
Thank you and please take time to read this and see if you can help.
