May 97 - Present Human Resources Manager, Canadian Forces Recruiting Centre Gagetown, NB
Provided technical advice to senior management on all personnel selection matters. This involved, travelling throughout the Maritimes, the reviewing of client's files, interviewing personnel, ensuring that appropriate psychological tests were conducted as well as the interpretation of those tests and preparation of personnel selection reports.

Will have completed the Masters degree program in Industrial/Organizational Psychology by May 99. Thesis entitled "Improving the Accuracy of Biodata Job Application Forms". Presented two papers at the Canadian Psychological Association Convention in June 97.

The above services were provided to a military population in excess of 5,000 regular and reserve personnel.
Provided career transition services such as counselling, transition seminars, résumé writing and job search workshops.
As Base Education Officer, counselled members on education upgrading and liaised with the Ministry of Advanced Education and local education institutions.
Conducted several personal harassment investigations.
Developed and conducted stress management workshops.
1991 - 1994 Human Resources Manager, Canadian Forces Base Calgary
Planned, organized, directed and controlled the Human Resources section that consisted of a staff of one officer, a secretary and a clerk. Also trained a reserve personnel selection officer.
Advised and assisted other departmental managers on interpretation and administration of personnel policies and programs.
Provided personnel selection and transition services as listed above.
Conceived, developed and implemented an Operational Stress management program for the entire western Army area. This involved training soldiers in Victoria, Chilliwack, Calgary and Winnipeg prior to their deployment on United Nations peacekeeping duties. Conducted Critical Incident debriefings in Croatia.

Provided personnel selection services for more than 3,000 personnel.
Advised managers and employees on the interpretation of personnel policies and benefit programs.

Attended French language training in conjunction with regular classes.

Was responsible for the administration of recruiting programs, identifying current and prospective vacancies, advising applicants on employment requirements, recruiting graduates of colleges, universities and other educational institutions, public relations presentations, interviewing of applicants, writing of reports and the supervision of personnel clerks.
Directed the recruitment of northern natives that required extensive travelling across the Eastern Arctic and a sensitivity to cultural issues.

Supervised and conducted operations and training for military units.

As a member of a private consulting team, won a $26,000 contract to design a new performance appraisal system for the University of Calgary.
