FIFTH REUNION ACTIVITIES
August 20, 1998
Dear Classmates,
It is hard to believe that it's been five years since we were all
together at The Citadel. I am truly looking forward to having us all
together again. The festivities for Homecoming 1998 will begin on
Friday, November 6th and run through the weekend.
If you would like to stay in the official 1993 hotel you need to
call as soon as possible to reserve a room. We will be staying at
the Hampton Inn, Mt. Pleasant. You can make reservations by calling
1-800-HAMPTON the code is CCCR or "The Citadel Class Reunion." The
hotel can also be reached directly at 1-843- 881-3300. The rate is
$85.00 a night, and is not included in the weekend package rate.
Friday night will begin with a bash aboard the U.S.S. Yorktown.
We will have Velvetta providing us with live Music. For those of you
no longer in Charleston, Velvetta is a great 80's cover band and
since we all grew up in the 80's it should prove to be inspirational.
Dinner will consist of Beaufort Stew, steamed Oysters and of course
all the fixings. There will also be an open bar with Beer, Liquor,
and Wine. The doors will open at 7:30 and the party will last till
after midnight.
Saturday will feature a Tailgate Party and will begin after
parade. We will be having Brown's Bar-B-Q with all the fixings and
of course lots of beer. You will also receive your 1993 Hat (Uniform
of the Day) for our victorious march onto the field (What is the
purpose of marking time?). We have reserved a block of seats so if
you need tickets to the game please make a note of it on the
information sheet. If you already have tickets please note whether
you will be trading them in for a ticket in our block of seats.
We must receive payment for the weekend by October 20th so don't
lay this in your pile of mail and forget to send it in. If your
short on cash and need to make a special payment arrangement please
do not hesitate to contact Mark Adam's at the number below but please
don't show up and expect to participate without paying.
Well, not to long from now we will all be back at the place we
once called home. We are probably a lot fatter (I know I am), but I
know that we will be able to capture the spirit of our time together
at The Citadel and renew the friendships that exist due to a bond so
few understand. My best to you and yours, and have a safe trip down.
