Ability, Ability, Ability

This common Dark effect has a destiny of 3, and its immunity to Alter is nice. It reads, "Deploy on opponent's side of the table. During opponent's deploy phase, opponent must choose to deploy a card with ability or lose 2 Force. Effect lost if opponent has more cards with ability on table than you."

This card is very difficult to cancel if you're playing a TIE, Stormtrooper, or other deck with loads of cards with ability. Obviously, it's cool to make your opponent lose 2 Force a couple times during a game, and it's a great counter to the old cheesy droids / inserts deck, but what's the best function of the card? It can force your opponent to make a decision that they might not want to make! Many times, a player will throw a character or starship out there just so that they don't have to lose the 2 Force! This can get your opponent to prematurely commit their resources to locations, thereby minimizing the threat of ambushes on your own forces. It may also get your opponent to deploy lone characters - they may hold back ability cards in their hand to deploy on future turns to avoid the A,A,A penalty. If this happens, you can stomp the lone character during your turn, forcing your opponent to lose much more than 2 Force!

When you start dictating how your opponent's going to play, you've taken the first step to an easy victory!
