My 1'st and sofar only visit to the US was in 1993, going to Philadelphia and North Carolina.

Going there from from Malaysia, via Taiwan to LA, and finally to Philadelphia was one long.... 34 hours journey. Since that day going to Europe from Asia is like a walk in the park, just 12-14 hours and you are there.

My visit was very nice, even though I had more culture chock coming to America, than when I came to Asia, but still I had a nice time full of experiences.

Going to downtown Philadelphia on a Saturday night, was like walking into a movie, and I am pretty sure most of the people who saw me, thought I was from out of space, which was cool as I could go every where with out any problems. But my American colleagues was rather shocked the next week, when I told them where I had been.

Unfortunetly my visit was only for a week ( 5 days ) so my time was rather limited, but still so much the more reason to go back and see some more places.

Philidelphia was the federal capital from 1790-1800

The city is located at the Delware river, 150 km from the shores of the Atlantic ocean,

but can still recive ocean going ships in its inland port.!

And when you miss the exit to downtown,

you end up in New Jersey acors the Delaware river.!

Nothing to see there, unless you go the 125 km to New York,

so need to turn back to Phillidelphia.

If my memory is correct, this is the 1'st national bank building

of the 1'st American federation.

My next stop was in North Carolina, to see the fall furniture fair.

North Carolina is a beautiful area, full of USA.

My host the the 2 days was the resident of this nice wood house.

with a lot of nice neighbour houses,,,,
