MJHS Alumni FAQ

Is this the official webpage of the Mt. Juliet High School Alumni?

No.  This is not recognized officially by the Wilson County School Board or the Mt. Juliet High School.  However, it is linked via the MJHS webpage.  This is just an independent effort by an alumnus who wants to keep fellow alumni in contact with each other.  I do not receive any compensation for this.  This is completely a volunteer effort.

Who is considered an alumnus?

Anyone who graduated from Mt. Juliet High School.
Any current student of Mt. Juliet High School.
Anyone who attended Mt. Juliet High School in the past, but did not graduate.  (Either they dropped out, moved or transferred to a different school).
Any teacher, past or present of Mt. Juliet High School.

Any person which meets any of the above criteria can be listed.

My name or email address has changed.  How do I update it?

Go to the "Get listed page" and sign the form.  It should be updated within a few weeks.

Why does it take so long to have my name added to the list?

Once you sign the "Get listed page" a message is sent to the maintainer of the page.  The list is not automatically updated.  It is done manually by the webmaster.  I usually try to update it once every week or 2 weeks.

I am concerned about privacy.  How should I list my name?

We assume that any information you give us is public information and is accessable by anyone who visits this site. We do, however, wish to respect your privacy. If for any reason you do not want information posted on this site...please let us know and we will not display it.   We will not, under any circumstance, sell your information to any company or organization.

If you are concerned about privacy, but you still want to be listed there are several things you could try.  It is not absolutely necessary for married women to list their maiden name.  This makes it a bit more difficult for fellow alumni to figure out who you are.  But it does keep deviant people from finding out your maiden name.  A maiden name could be used to validate who you are (i.e. for online passwords, credit cards, etc...).

Spam concerns:

As stated before, the webmaster will never sell or give away your email address directly to online marketers.  Unfortunately junk emailers tend to "harvest" email addresses from public webpages.  Most address harvesting software used by junk emailers does not discriminate; anything with an '@' sign is considered an address.

When is my class's reunion?

The webmaster does not receive any formal notice of reunions.  If I hear of any reunion info through local media (usually through the Mt. Juliet Chronicle or on the local cable bulletin board), I will usually try to pass on info on the webpage.  Also if anyone sends an email regarding reunion plans to the webmaster or lists a reunion notice on the webpage forums, I will try to post this on the class listing section.  Just because a notice is not posted on this webpage does not mean that a reunion is not planned.

I just tried to send an email to someone listed on this webpage.  The email got returned back to me.  What should I do?

Either your friend's email address is invalid or their mail system is down.  Try waiting a few days and sending another email.  If the second email is returned to you, then you'll know the address is invalid.  You can alert the webmaster of invalid or outdated email addresses by sending an email.  I'll try to remove the email address from the list.

Go back to the main page.
