NORMAN, Oklahoma (Ticker) -- Missouri gets little time to savor its victory over Nebraska. The Tigers' reward for beating the Cornhuskers last week is a trip to Norman to take on top-ranked Oklahoma, which has been steamrolling opponents. Missouri erupted for 27 unanswered points in the fourth quarter to beat Nebraska for the first time since 1978 with a 41-24 victory. The Tigers (5-1, 1-1 Big 12 North) also snapped a 45-game losing streak against top-10 teams, dating to a win over No. 9 Mississippi in 1981. But they face an even tougher challenge this week against the Sooners, who demolished Texas, 65-13. Heisman Trophy candidate Jason White threw four touchdown passes and Mark Clayton caught eight passes for a school-record 190 yards. Oklahoma (6-0, 1-1 Big 12 South), which gained 552 yards and forced six turnovers against the Longhorns, has scored more than 50 points in four straight games for the first time in school history. White completed 17-of-21 passes for 290 yards against Texas. The Sooners have outscored their six opponents this season by an average of more than 33 points per game, scoring 229 points in their last four contests. With Ohio State losing to Wisconsin, the Sooners' eight-game winning streak is tied with Texas Christian for the longest in the country. "It's pretty remarkable to see them play," Missouri coach Gary Pinkel said. "As you watch this team against a great Texas team, to see what happened in that game is pretty staggering. They have players playing at a high level at absolutely every position offensively and defensively." Oklahoma knows all about Brad Smith, Missouri's dual threat quarterback who put on a show in the Tigers' 31-24 loss to the Sooners last season. Smith set a school record for quarterbacks by rushing for 213 yards and a touchdown on 36 carries and also completed 19-of-39 passes for 178 yards and a score. The Sooners escaped when holder Matt McCoy threw a 14-yard TD pass to Chris Chester on a fake field goal with 6:33 remaining. Last week, Smith tied a school mark with four touchdowns against Nebraska. He rushed for three scores after catching a 47-yard TD pass in the second quarter as the Tigers rallied from a 24-14 deficit in the fourth quarter. While Missouri ended a long streak last week, it will be trying to stop another one this week as the Tigers have not won in Norman since 1966, a span of 15 games. Missouri does own a win over Oklahoma since the teams became Big 12 rivals, a 20-6 victory in Columbia in 1998. The Sooners lead the all-time series, 61-23-5, including wins in the last two meetings.

OU Beats Tigers, 34-13
Norman, Okla. (AP) - Once again, there was no post-Texas letdown at Oklahoma. Jason White threw two touchdown passes and Antonio Perkins tied a pair of NCAA records by returning a punt for a touchdown as the top-ranked Sooners coasted to a 34-13 Big 12 Conference foe Missouri. The Sooners routed Texas, 65-13, last week for their fourth straight win in the Red River Shootout. They have been just as impressive in the game after Texas, winning all five times since Bob Stoops took over in 1999. Leading the way this year was White, who completed 20-of-34 passes for 278 yards to help Oklahoma (7-0, 3-0 Big 12 South) win its ninth straight game. Missouri (5-2, 1-2 Big 12 North) snapped a 45-game losing streak against top-10 teams with a win over Nebraska last week, but was able to stay competitive only through the middle of the second quarter when Oklahoma scored 21 points in just under eight minutes. The Sooners went ahead to stay, 17-10, with 7:54 left in the quarter when Mark Clayton caught a 39-yard TD pass from White in which he leaped in the end zone and pulled the ball away from Tigers safety Nino Williams. White followed four minutes later with a 31-yard TD pass to Jejuan Jenkins, who caught a short pass and broke several tackles en route to the end zone. The Sooners broke open the game when Perkins had a 69-yard punt return for a score with 62 seconds left in the half. Perkins has returned four punts for touchdowns this season and seven in his career, tying both NCAA records. Ten other players have returned four punts for a score in a season and three others have seven in their career, most recently David Allen of Kansas State from 1997 to 1999. Quarterback Brad Smith had a 26-yard TD run for Missouri, but was not nearly as effective against Oklahoma as last season, when he ran for 213 yards. Smith completed 15-of-31 passes for 180 yards with an interception and carried 17 times for 50 yards. Renaldo Works opened the scoring with a one-yard TD run for Oklahoma, capping an 11-play, 73-yard drive. Trey DiCarlo of Oklahoma kicked field goals of 20 yards in the second quarter and 30 yards late in the third. Michael Matheny kicked a 26-yard field goal for Missouri late in the first quarter and had a 25-yarder for the only score of the fourth.
