Lesson 1) Distance and Midpoint Formulas
Goals:
- TLW be able to use the distance formula to find the distance between two given points.
- TLW be able to use the midpoint formula to find the distance between two given points.
Lesson 2) Parabolas
- TLW be able to recognize a parabola from its standard equation.
- TLW be able to graph a parabola from its standard equation.
- TLW be able to put an equation for a parabola into standard form.
Lesson 3) Circles
- TLW be able to recognize a circle from its standard equation.
- TLW be able to graph a circle from its standard equation.
- TLW be able to put an equation for a circle into standard form.
Lesson 4) Ellipses
- TLW be able to recognize an ellipse from its standard equation.
- TLW be able to graph an ellipse from its standard equation.
- TLW be able to put an equation for an ellipse into standard form.
Lesson 5) Hyperbolas
- TLW be able to recognize a hyperbola from its standard equation.
- TLW be able to graph a hyperbola from its standard equation.
- TLW be able to put a hyperbola for a ellipse into standard form.
Lesson 6) Conic Sections
- TLW be able to differentiate conic sections by their standard equations.
- TLW differentiate between conic sections while putting their equations into standard form.
- TLW be able to put generic conic section equations into standard form for the appropriate conic section.
- TLW be able to graph assorted conic sections given their general equation (not standard equation).
Lesson 7) Conic Systems
- TLW understand graphically what the solutions to systems of conic equations are.
- TLW solve systems of conic equations with equalities.
- TLW sketch systems of conic equations with inequalities.
