i'd like to know about you.

the weekend continues...
I went to visit Vincent at American U on Saturday.  He had to work, so we only had a short time window.  He lived in a single in a modern dorm on a campus that was mostly older, prettier buildings.  At this time I would like to comment that the sun brings out the pretty girls from wherever they hide.  Pretty girls aside, my visit with Vin was fairly uneventful.  It was nice to see where he lives, and he has a cute girlfriend, so we're proud of him.
Since Erin disappeared with her boyfriend and Mike was busy, I spent the rest of the day alone.  I took the Metro to the Mall and looked at the monuments and cherry blossoms.  I also went to the Smithsonian--the Museum of American History and the Air & Space Museum.  There I ran into a kid I knew from Binghamton who was down for the weekend with his pledges...how funny.
Saturday night we went to Mike's friend's house with his girlfriend for a dinner of chicken and rice.  The house was gorgeous!  25-foot vaulted ceilings, jacuzzis, a bidet.  I was awe-stricken.  Of course, they pay $700 a month in rent a piece.    Crazy.  After dinner, Mike's girlfriend wanted to see a movie, and we decided on The Full Monty.  It was hilarious, definitely worth the $3 ticket.
Sunday came way too quickly.  We went to J.Crew and Abercrombie, where I bought shorts, then went to a Marriott-owned dining hall for lunch.  The food was much better than the food at Binghamton, although they have a pay-by-the-meal system, instead of by piece of food, which I think is a poor system.  I also spent some quality Erin time on Sunday, since I didn't see her on Saturday.  I finished the weekend by helping Mike fix the GPB web page.

I couldn't sit next to Liz on the first leg of our journey home.  I sat next to an elderly man from Florida on whom I spilled a Coke.  I was trying to study accounting and I couldn't manage the book and the soda.  We had a 2 hour layover in Pittsburgh, which was quite a good time because we got Arby's, looked in stores, made our schedules, called home, and talked about the trip.  We flew back to Binghamton on a jet, quite unlike the plane we statrted our trip on.  The flight attendant on the trip home was hilarious, mocking the safety instructions, teaching Liz how to open the emergency exit (although she wasn't up for a demonstration) and telling us "what a cute couple we were."  Of course, we weren't a couple, but she didn't need to know that...
