Dogwood - "More Than Conquerors" (TN1134)
1.
"Suffer"Indenpendent. I leave you now,
to drown in desolation.
Oblivious to no one.
Perpetual comparison.
You realized when I left that you were wrong.
You're gone.
Suffer, 'cuz this would be your fault.
I know it's just another lie.
You expect me to succumb.
Snuff your insecurities.
You bounce from friend to friend.
You're nothing but a memory of treasure lost.
We stumbled side by side, we all tried to ignore.
The promises you never kept.
You realized when I left that you were wrong. You're wrong.
Suffer, you know this is your fault.
I know it's just another lie.
2.
"Rest Assured"I'm already sorry.
For all of the hurt that is to come.
I'm already thankful for the man I know that you'll become.
So, look up and laugh.
We'll cross that finish line together.
So sleep tight tonight child and I will be watching over you.
Rest assured, God will be watching over you.
All you need to learn. I'll keep you safe from harm.
I'd do all it takes.
I'd lay down my life as long as I know you'll be alright.
I give you all my victories, cause without you I'm not quite me.
Rest assured I said I'd never leave.
3.
"Feel The Burn"Distortion of my words.
Help me to know my flaws.
Churning in the vault of bitterness and hurt.
Twist what should be left alone in solitude.
Sill I picture you trying to repent.
Feel the burn. Watch us burn.
Time and time was spent finding out the truth.
We believed in our undying youth.
Nothing ever more modeled after you.
Now everybody knows and anyone can see
the way the story goes.
And what you did to me.
Tasted once before.
Unlock sacred doors.
Shut to our requests.
Say you did your best.
You said you were our friend.
The lies were common place.
What happened to forgiveness?
I'll never see your face again.
4.
"Never Die"Faith like a rock.
The size of a seed.
Eternal life is all you need.
Work your will.
My life is Yours.
Rejoice in You Lord.
My faith in You will never die.
Life fast, die slow.
Stand back, let go.
Choose life, you'll see.
How awesome it is when God sets you free.
Live eternally.
Forever, I trust in you.
5.
"Out Of The Picture"Let it go.
Scrape it off.
'Cause it's too late to remedy.
The situation has passed your hands.
Slipped right by.
And they're much better off without you.
The cloud that covered their sunshine.
Glad I could help.
Glad I could be the hammer that would nail
the nail into the wall of my downfall.
Hang your life and those pictures of how you were.
Security replaced my portrait anyway.
Remember, when I told you so.
I'm learning to let go.
I'm learning not to open up.
Learning not to share..
Not that you care.
My thoughts are all I have.
I'm learning not to follow my perennial mistake.
So now go. Live your life.
Turning back, turning to salt.
You realize this was my fault
and I lie here, vision now clear. Shattered ego. Broken pride.
Fractured conscience. Monocide.
Forget about the ones that you stepped upon along the way.
I hope it will be raining on that day.
6.
"My Best Year"Days are getting so much longer.
I feel like I'm getting so much stronger.
The fear inside me dies when you are not around.
Looking back I've grown up so much this year.
Your purpose now is so clear.
Your mission is complete and now the chord is severed.
Is there something I can do?
Some way to get through to you.
You oughta know.
I still miss you.
Thinking of a time when I was younger.
These words would leave me hungered.
One broken me is searching for what I can't see.
All these thoughts add to digression.
Though through this weak confession.
I'm stronger than you ever were.
You should concur.
Bite your tongue and sever through.
Common sense come crashing to.
There's still a hope.
It's not in you.
7.
"Control"Break me, Lord. I've taken control.
I don't know how to get up from this fall.
Fill my head with comfort instead
and resolute mistakes past made.
Help me take this day by day.
Take what is yours.
Make it your own.
Show my way home.
Your will not mine.
I know if I surrender control.
Help me, Lord. I failed you before.
I haven't quite accepted that I'm wrong.
What you see. Mold it to be
the life that you have planned ahead.
I can be used by you if I would grab your hand.
8.
"Everything Dies In Time"Strength will come when we are friends
and put the "u" in "us" again.
Stand for what you care about
and pick each other up when you fall down.
It hurts to scrape your pride.
Compensate for misspelled lies
and where we are will change with time.
Brotherhood will fall in line.
You had your chance now it's our turn.
Come together over me.
Pick your head up off the ground to see.
We're there. We have a chance.
Don't turn your head to take another glance.
It hurts to scrape your pride.
Compensate for mistrust eyes
and where you are will change with rhyme.
Brotherhood will die in time.
9.
"We Cry Victory"Arise all ye warriors.
A battle we must win.
Be shielded in His glory.
Let the fighting begin.
Put on the holy armor.
It's time to take control.
Come along with me to fight for the lost souls.
Atop the hills we cry "victory is ours,
we're never turning back to our lifestyles of worthless sin.
(worthless sin)
Hear our prayers. We pour our hearts to you, Oh Lord.
As we, we cry victory!"
March along in valor and shout this battle hymn.
We're armored and we're ready to put satan to an end.
With God's word as a sword there's nothing you can't do.
Allow Him to command you and see what happens too.
There's power in His love.
Strength from up above.
Feel the brunt of our attack.
Because our past is never coming back.
10.
"The Pain Is Gone"Take my rage.
Hide it in your fists.
It's all for you.
It's all I can do.
And believe me when I say that I'll pay you back some day.
When you're standing all alone with nothing of your own.
Bury my burdens.
Have fun controlling me.
Cast all my cares upon your weary shoulders.
Heed my words to you because what I say is true.
This is something we discussed.
I want the best for us.
Reaching out desperately.
Broken dreams, you and me.
Reaching out, tragically.
Dead beliefs, you and me.
Now my pain is gone.
I'm moving on.
11.
"Confusion Zero"I can't explain it.
You can't contain it.
I hope it takes you quick.
Try on your own, your future's alone.
Why can't you see the mess you're in?
The story is old, the ending is bleak.
Your body is strong and your mind is so weak.
You think that you'll last, I give you a week.
Although this is sad, your problems are not unique.
The choice now is yours.
I set it before.
How much do you have to lose?
They've got you by the next.
Your life now in check.
It's too late to turn back now.
Just another stat. Just another name.
Just another face and another shamed.
They heard you cry but nobody came.
Tell me who's to blame?
And something that's out there is tearing at my soul.
I tried to defeat it and it swallowed me whole.
Now I can tell you that something is wrong.
You won't believe until you follow along.
You'll find yourself when you truly believe.
Open your eyes and let your heart receive.
12.
"Left Out Cold"What happened now?
Excuse of why we can't move away.
Taken from the box.
Skimmed over the top.
Trust is of the past.
Friendships never last.
Nobody wins in a race against defeat.
You conquered our beliefs with words of deceit.
Harbored animosity engulfing our desires to forgive.
Now fear swept away.
I've nothing left to say.
I choose heaven over death.
Simple as breath.
My God has taken charge.
My past has left me scarred.
Left out cold.
There was a place we all knew where we could get along.
No one stabbed another brother.
We could rely on each other.
The virtues we all shared no other time compares.
How could we have let you get away?
Harbored animosity engulfing our desires to forgive.
13. "More Than Conquerors"
We have a certain calling to rise above the rest
even when our human nature says we're not the best.
And when trials and tribulations can put you to the test.
God is for us.
None's against us.
Don't be stressed.
Have a good look at how it's gonna be
when our army of servants destroys the enemy.
Decide in your hearts whose side you're really on.
Don't wait for us to be dead and gone.
Don't be afraid, we're all around.
Let the truth introduce itself.
More than conquerors, more than few.
More than everything, more than you.
