Barcelona is one of three teams to continue play in the new World League. In the 1997 season, they returned to the World Bowl. In one of their most memorable games, they broke up London's bid for the first perfect season in football since the 1972 Miami Dolphins. In week 10 of the 1991 season, London entered the game with a perfect 9-0 record. Barcelona was almost as good with a 7-2 record when they traveled to Wembley stadium. That night, the Dragons beat the Monarchs by a field goal, 20-17. The next week they traveled to Birmingham for a first round playoff game. They beat the Fire 10-3 to advance to World Bowl I where they were defeated by London 21-0.
