Brillo Pad Speaks With Forked Tongue

A priceless, historical relic recently found it's way into the hands of TFH - a full, unedited version of the Bell's League Cup Final of 1980 (United 3 - Dundee 0, for all you young Arabs).
Settling down to relive the memories, our reporter was wallowing in nostalgia (Export more like...ED) when his happy hankering after halcyon days (get on with it...ED) was cut short by the shock of hearing the way Archie MacPherson's commentary changed after the final whistle.
As the United players chaired Heggy around with the trophy, his previously fulsome praise suddenly ceased, as he revealed his real thoughts on United.
The following is a complete transcript of the conversation he carried on with someone in his earpiece.

"Paul Hegarty with the Bell's League Cup. A sign of triumph, and dedication and a great deal of skill in the team that is surely one of the best we've seen in Scottish football for a long time. Yeah, ok, I mean, I just kept talking there, I'm sure they won't use all that guff, you know, but I just kept going on. If you're listening in VT, I think I was a wee bit excessive there, they're not the best team in Scotland for a long time but, you know what I mean. Yeah, yeah, yeah. Sure, sure. Yeah, they're the best - what time are we on, do you know? Right. Now are we going to try and get, eh, interviews right away?"

So the next time you hear Archie spouting on about how good this team or that team is, remember, it's only for the cameras. We have proof!
