Beitar Jerusalem took the opportunity to win the Cup seriously, and already after 20 minutes it had a lead of 2 goals over the stubborn and unpredictive Bnei-Yehuda Tel-Aviv - first, it was an own goal from a header of Ronen Feigenbaum, and then Offer Shitrit was stopped by Smadja, but the forward's determination resulted in a successful rebound. Bnei-Yehuda's defence was catastrophic, and every time the wonderful Hezi Shirazi managed to reduce the score, the gap was immediately returning to be what it was before. The best goal was the last, when Offer Shitrit passed all the defence and released a clever ball to Ilan Bakhar who bombed it under Smadja's bar. While Rami Levi returns to the League struggles at the bottom, Dror Kashtan takes his team into a well-deserved Cup final - and the picanterie comes with the rival, whom Kashtan will coach the next year. A loss with his current team will mean an European place for his new team, and will he stand the seduction?.. All of us will get the answer in 2 weeks.

In its most important game this season, Hapoel Petakh-Tikwa failed to present any decent rivalry to Hapoel Tel-Aviv and lost with one goal conceded in each half, all of those scored after the redundant mistakes of Viadin Kolosevic. The referee Meir Levi, allowing the goal of Moti Ohayon despite the obvious and aggressive foul of the scorer on his defender, closed the account 12 minutes later, forgiving Ilan Boaron for elbowing Gabor Marton without a ball. For Hapoel Tel-Aviv, the Cup final will be utterly important, and especially for some of its players - Idan Tal may see it as another proof for his European skill deserving to be seen in Europe, and as for Shalom Tikwa, it can be the first and the last award in his long and otherwise marvellous career.
