The names might be misspelled. The responsibility for that is mine only.
NOTE: I haven't seen the game, and so, the report is brief and uncovering.

While Italy knew that the job was nearly done by the others, Denmark had Portugal ahead in the game against Croatia, and so knew about its minor chances to advance; nevertheless, the ex-European Champions were fighting for their honor, and beat Turkey, 3:0, even though it did not help much in the final count.

In the 1st half, the game was scoreless. Schmeichel parried a wonderful shot of Hakan, and a great volley of Abdullah went near his right post. On the other hand, Rustu managed to parry the ball of Allen Nielsen (41), and the rebound was shot high by Brian Laudrup. However, the goals came after the break, using the shakiness of the Turkish defence.

After 49 minutes, Brian Laudrup used the mistake of Alpay, passed Rustu and rolled the opener home, 1:0. The next two goals were scored by Allen Nielsen (69) and Brian Laudrup again (84), after the goal passes of Michael Laudrup and Erik Andersen, respectively. Brian Laudrup was surely the player to watch in this tournament, but not his eliminated team, Denmark. Too bad.
