Full name: Paul Stanton Wylie |
A picture of Paul skating in his Harvard sweatshirt :)
A very nicely taken picture of Paul skating Adagio.
Pic of Adagio scanned/donated by Diane
"But to look beyond the glory is the hardest part...
For a hero's strength is measured by his heart..."
- The names "Paul" and "Wylie", respectivly, mean "small" and "charming." ^_^
- Paul managed to train for the Olympics and put himself through Harvard -- as Dick Button says, "that is something I really admire!"
- He is such a gentleman. So gracious to his fans, so sweet, so caring -- how can you not love this guy??!!
- As you've probably noticed, Paul has a particular affinity for spread eagles and Russian splits. Which is cool! They're his "signiature moves," and he does them very well!
- To watch Paul skate in an incredible thing, as you have all probably noticed. There is something so different about him that separates him from all other skaters... something dynamic, something charismatic, something incredible. He has brought me to tears with his elegant and carefully-executed programs.
- Paul is very fast on his feet. Sometimes you can't catch everything. It helps to go through his programs frame by frame.
- I have a TON of pictures of Paul, but no scanner. So unless I get one... you'll never see them. ;_; (altho I am getting access to a scanner soon!!)
Paul is one of the most gracious people on earth. I'm sure we all miss his presence in the sport of figure skating. Oh well, at least we have our taped Paul routines...

The above black and white photo was scanned and kindly donated to me by Diane, as was the picture of Paul skating to Adagio. Both pictures are (c) 1997 Diane and permission was granted to use them (and all other pictures taken/scanned by her that appear) on this page only.
