Looking for a way to spend some quality time
during the hockey off season.
Well look no futher than the Hamilton Challenger Baseball
Association.
Challenger Baseball is a sport for players with
special needs. Participation in the league can provide players
the opportunity to improve endurance, coordination, social
skills, etc. at a competitive or relaxed, lesisurely level of
involvement.
Individuals develope a sense of belonging, lasting friendships
are built and strengthened and the level of fun and enjoyment of
life is increased.
Last year over 80 youth and adults participated and this year they expect to top 100 as more families discover Challenger Baseball. The main activity of the association involves junior and senior teams playing intra-league games at local baseball parks. Buddies are available to assist players, however, the priority for buddies is to encourage the player to participate to the maximum of his/her ability. Baseball rules are adapted as required to match players' abilities so that teamwork and participation are emphasized.
Below are some pictures from a demonstration day put on at the end of this season.
