A second round draft pick out of Bowling Green University, Villapiano played linebacker for the Oakland Raiders from 1971-'79. He played in four straight Pro Bowls from 1973 to '76 and was a member of the Raiders' Super Bowl XI winning team. He finished his career playing for the Buffalo Bills from 1980 to '83.
