What are your favorite Mariner memories? Gaylord Perry's 300th win? The 1979 All-Star Game? Jay Buhner hitting for the cycle? Mr. Jello? You have to be a serious fan to know who that was. Send me your feedback and I may put in on the site! You can send them to:. Hi!! My favorite memory has to be the Griffey's hitting home runs back to back...we may not see that again... Carlos Ramia
I believe it is the 95 playoffs.

I really enjoyed your Geocities site. I especially enjoyed the flashbacks from the 70's. As my e-mail address says, I'm a Seattle native, and I remembered some of the highlights you listed, but forgot others. I was there when Gaylord Perry won his 300th game (I worked as a vendor in the Dome in '81-82). I remember the chants for Rup, and you hit the nail on the head in your description of the Langston trade. I didn't realize Edgar went back so far with the team. This will definitely be a book mark site for me. If you're interested at all, I have a page on my site (www.oocities.org/Heartland/Ranch/7300) dedicated to the Seattle sports teams, including the Huskies. I just share my thoughts of the happenings with the teams there. Stop in anytime. John Nelson
I'm impressed with this site because I can't get enough about the Mariners. I lived in Seattle from 1979 to 1984. I was at Gaylord Perry's 300th game and many other games. I saw Maury Wills, as manager, get a 100 pound bag of Walla Walla onions as a promotional thing. Going to the Kingdome was a lot of fun. Growing up in the suburbs of the Yankees and Mets (and living here again), it was so much easier to go to a game in the Kingdome. I wish I still lived there when the new dynasty was formed. Lou Pinella is a great manager. And of course, all the current players make it exciting. At Gaylord's 300th, there were over 27,000 people. The Kingdome was exploding by the 7th inning. I can't imagine the stadium with over 50,000 going at it. I hope someday to experience it again (maybe in a new stadium). Thanks again !!! |
