03/12/98 - Miami Heat forward Keith Askins underwent arthroscopic surgery on Thursday, March 12, to repair torn cartilage in his knee, and will likely be out for the next six weeks. He has been averaging 2.3 points and 2.0 rebounds per game for Miami. Askins was placed on the injured list on Thursday, after suffering the injury during practice on Monday. The Heat is already without forwards Jamal Mashburn, who broke his right thumb and may miss the rest of the season, and Terry Mills, who is recovering from knee surgery.
