Tatiana Gutsu 1992 Olympic All-Arround
Champion. Her first world competition was the 1991 World Championships
where she colected a gold (team) and two silver medals (bars and beam).
She turned many heads with her incredible difficulty although her form
and artistic interpretation was not perfect yet. She won the 1992
European AA title and followed it with the Olympic AA title. Despite
a fall on optional beam which left her out of the AA final, Gutsu replaced
"injured" teammate Roza Galieva in the final. She made
the most of her oportunity by wining the AA title. After that she
toured in the US, competed in a few European competitions and retired.
She will be best remembered for her incredible difficulty includin a double
twisting Yurckenko, standing full on beam, two double layouts in the same
rutine and a split leg double layout on floor.
