Olga Strazeva
Olga Stazeva was a member of the
1988 Soviet Olympic Team. She won a gold medal with her team but
on the balance beam, in her second to last rotation, she injured her knee
and was unable to continue the competition. She came back in 1989
at World Championships earning a gold medal in the team competition, bronze
on the AA and uneven bars competition. She will best be remembered
for her unique interpretatin of her floor rutine "Rite of Spring"
one of the most inovative and original rutines of her time.
