Miami High outgunned Quincy Shanks in the first day of the MLK classic. Daniel Dieudonne led the way with 21 points and 5 three-pointers. Javorie Wilson contributed 20 and Marcus Barnes 18.

MHS disposed of Fort Lauderdale's Dillard High School just like they did last year. Although this game was much closer than last year's contests, Miami High still finished with a double figure victory. Javorie Wilson was high scorer with 16 and he was joined in double figures by Marcus Barnes(12), Cornelious Wright(11), and Andre Johnson(12).

MHS suffered their first loss of the season against a spirited NW team. The loss was the first for MHS against a Florida school in three years. The defeat snapped a 76 game winning streak against Florida schools. Marcus Barnes scored 19 and Daniel Dieudonne added 11 in the losing effort.

The Stingarees concluded their season at 17-1 including a perfect 10-0 in district play. However, thanks to the FHSAA the Stingarees will be sitting out this year's playoffs which means that in several weeks a bogus champion will be crowned in Lakeland. But watch out the Stings will be back next year and anyone wanting the state title will have to come through MHS like they've always had to do. Dieudonne-17, Barnes-16, W. Frazier-13, J. Johnson-11.
