1995 senior mens Queensland Championship
Wests was the power club in the early 1980's right from the formation of the Queensland Gaelic Football Association, winning League and Championship doubles in 1984-1985, the first two years of competition.
But since changing its name from Wests to Shamrocks in 1990, trophies were rare.
But then in 1995 - a decade since the previous Championship win in 1985 - that changed with former star player Jimmy Walsh now as coach, capturing the 1995 senior mens Queensland Championship.
The was the club's third senior mens Championship win after twelve years of QGFA competition, bettered only by the six in eight years by the powerful Souths adversaries.
Despite the unparalleled Championship success of Souths in the preceding years, the club had still only managed to equal the Wests/Shamrocks record of two League-Championship doubles.
