Jason McAteer
A 4.5 million
purchase from Bolton Wanderers, McAteer found himself out of the starting
11 at the early this season. With the injury to Rob Jones, however, the
Eire international has regained his place and has been playing well recently.
Usually plays as a right wing back in the 5-3-2 formation but the reversal
to 4-4-2 has him playing now as a more defensive right back.
A midfield
player for his country, McAteer does show some good touches of the ball.
He is often criticised for lack of tenacity and aggression in his tackles.
I believe this has improved slightly, but there is still space for improvement
in his crossing. Though there's not much need for this on his part nowadays.
