~INTRO~
Hi all,
I have chosen some stories from Shearer's book <MY
STORY SO FAR>. They are just a resume of what Shearer
wrote. I have tried not to change or destroy what he
wrote. The book printed a lot of picture inculding his
beautiful wife Lainya and two little girls. But sorry
that I don't have a scanner so I can't scan them to you.
Finally, hope Alan have had a great birthday today.
Enjoy the stories!

1.
After he joined Newcastle...
In Anfied, Everytime when I got
the ball I was booed. One section of the crowd even hit
me with the chant, 'One greedy bastard.' I had taken that for 4 years from
Manchester United fans and the last people in the world I
expected it from were Blackburn supporters. I thought I
deserved better than that after all the good times I had
shared with them.
2. It
was a funny story he wrote which I marked from "My
Captain's Tale" which is one of the article of his
book.
An Italian cable TV company has
asked me to do a promotional film in which I was to be
portrayed as the James Bond of goalscoring. I was
supposed to say, partly in English and partly in Italian,
'The name's Shearer. Alan Shearer. My job-goals.' I could
not get it right. It was not me. In the end I just said,
'Hello, my name is Alan Shearer.' delivered in my best
Geordie accent.
3. It
was about England's Gazza...
The England players all used to
grab a few hours sleep before each of the Euro 96 games,
everyone that is except Gazza. He was so hyperactive, he
rarely sat still let alone went to sleep. The players did
not need the wake-up calls, because Gazza would open his
bedroom window, turn on his portable CD player and wake
up the whole hotel.
4.
When Alan was voted in the 3rd place of the World
Footballer...
I have a very strong will to
win, which can be an embarrassment. When I was invited to
attend the World Footballer of the year awards in Hisbon
early in 1997, I was voted in the 3rd place behind
Ronaldo and Weah. I declined the invitation to attend the
official banguet afterwards. Because my motto is first is
best, second is nowhere and third is a failure.
5. It
was about his earlier injury which I didn't realise
before. Man U 0- Newcastle 5 that game, his superb cross
to Les Ferdinand...
The moment I remember most was
when I crossed the ball from out on the right for
Ferdinand to score the third goal. I turned towards the
fans with my arms up to celebrate. But what the fans
didn't know was that my pleasure was mixed up with pain.
As I crossed the ball I suffered an injury but I kided
myself that the injury was not too serious. I just tried
to play. I was scoring regularly, as well. I got my first
hat trick for Newcastle in a 4-3 win over Leicester, one
of the goals was a free kick. It was a pain shot, but it
was worth it.
6. It
was about an earlier problem of Newcastle-Kenny leave...
If Kenny were to leave
Newcastle, I reckon there would be a queue of 5 or 6 of
the biggest clubs in the world who would be ready to take
him as manager. That says all you need to know about his
reputation and ability. It's easy to forget about the
changes Kevin made when he first took over. People gave
him time. They say he is one-off but so is Kenny. My
message to Newcastle fans is to give him a chance and he
will get it right.
7.
It was marked from "The Road To Recovery",
after Shearer suffered his serious injury last year, and
was waiting to recover...
One day in August when Lainya
was ill and we were both lying in bed.No one around us.
Lainya was dying for a cup of tea but neither of us could
do anything about it.We did laugh about this afterward
but that moment was really bad.
