Week 1 Scores

Good week this week, guys. Everyone got everything in on time. No
problems. So let's get to the scores...

Meek Boys 129
American Looney 78

The Meeks opened up their BFL season by whipping up on the Loons. The
Manning-Faulk tandem combined for 78 points, equaling the Looney's total
points. Everything else was just gravy. PK Olindo Mare led the Loons
with 17 points. When your kicker leads your team in scoring, you know
you're in trouble.

Pigskin Pipsqueaks 133
Yukon Jacks 85

Before the season started, the Pips expected to lean most of their weight
on QB Brett Favre. After game one against the Jacks, they may have to
redistribute their weight towards the Miami defense. Miami got 48 points
for the Pips. David Boston had 32 replacing Rob Moore in Arizona, and
Favre had a measly 20 points. It's a shame they lost Galloway to
that injury for the rest of the year. Marcus Robinson led the Jacks with
22.

McKamikaze Highlanders 140
The Dawgs 71

Air Kitchen is in the house, baby! You saw how the Meeks opened up with
their opponent's score between two players, right? The Highlanders outbid
them and said they could only do it in one ... and they did. Kurt Warner
opened up on the Denver defense for 71 points. The Ravens' shutout of the
Steelers was some nice icing. Mark Brunell led the Dawgs with 35 points.

Outlanders 116
Mark's Mules 88

Daunte Culpepper looked like he was going to do it all for the Outlanders,
too. He had 46 for them, including 3 rushing TD's and nearly 75 yards.
QB Rich Gannon led the Mules with 22.

Mustangs 153
Bemay Gizzards 152

In the comeback of the week, the Mustangs edged the Gizzards by the
thinnest of margins. The one-point win was made on the legs of Az-Zahir
Hakim, who had 116 yards receiving and an 80-yard TD catch for 28 points.
Duce Staley's 200-plus-yard effort (37 points), Curtis Martin's multiple
TD day (29), and Philadelphia's defense (25) set it all up for Hakim's
effort. The Gizzards had a nice game, too. They got 32 from Edgerrin
James, 31 from the Oakland defense, 25 from the $100 Million Man, Stephen
Davis, and 20 from Mike Alstott.

Missouri Manglers 120
The Butchers 73

The Manglers took their frustrations out on the Butchers, beating them by
47. Brad Johnson and Morten Andersen combined for 60 points (30 each) and
led all scorers. The Butchers' leading scorer was Shaun King with 21.

Week 1 MVP: I don't like to nominate my own players, but I gotta think
that Warner's effort last night makes him MVP. Morten Andersen's 30 was
the best by a PK ever, I think ... anyone know?

Week 2 Game to Watch: Highlanders vs. Pipsqueaks. Air Kitchen vs. Air
Knight. Gizzards vs. Meeks should be very interesting, too.

NOTES: Just so everyone remembers, everyone has to put up 3 guys in case
a tie-breaker is necessary. If you don't list them, you get a zero, and
you lose. This has been a friendly reminder from the Commish's Friendly
Reminder Network.
