Week 12 Scores

Yukon Jacks 136
Highlanders 95

We may as well start with this game. The Yukon Jacks over
came a large lead by the Highlanders in last nites game,
just blowing past them! Once again on the arm of the 750
TP man, Trent Green's 46 points, and 39! by the
Washington Redskin DS. That was about all they needed.
The Highlanders high scorer was Ed McCaffery with 29
points, and 21 from Jamal Lewis. Vinny Testaverde while
defeating the Miami Dolphins, was only able to score 10
points for the Highlanders. Also, Terrell Owens name
didn't even appear in the stats list, scoring 0, he did
not play! Can anybody stop this Yukon Jacks juggernaut?
Many things for these 2 teams depend up the return of Kurt
Warner. The Yukon Jacks vault to 5-7, and the Highlanders
continue to flounder, and go to 8-4. Do the Highlangers
lose their division lead in the LOMBARDI?

Dawgs 165
Pipsqueaks 156

No, they don't. In a slugfest, and a damn good game, the
Dawgs defeat the Pipsqueks by nine. Torry Holt dropped a
ball late in last nites game that could have easily gone
for a touchdown, changing the outcome to the Pipsqueaks
favor, but twas not to be. The Dawgs used a very consistent
scoring lineup, Donovan McNabb 35, Cris Carter 22, Randy
Moss 22, and got a huge day from the Jacksonville DS, with
35 points. The Pipsqueaks started Elvis Grbac in place of
the 'injured'(?) Bret Farve, and Elvis scored 44 points,
Robert Smith shredded the Dawgs D for 41 points, David
Boston had 22, but the 0 from Keyshawn Johnson, did not
help the Pipsqueaks cause. The Dawgs move to .500 at 6-6
and the Pipsqueaks, even with the loss, I'm pretty sure,
clinch a playoff spot, at 7-5. This has turned into a very
exciting division race in the LOMBARDI, can't wait for the
last 2 weeks!

Meeks 99
Mustangs 66

The Meeks for the second straight week score under 100
points, but as good as Marshall Faulk looked last nite,
expect this scoring slump to end soon, VERY SOON! Peyton
Manning was back in form this week, scoring 46 for the
Meeks, and they got 18 from Bill Schroeder, but J.R. Redmon
and Lamar Smith both scored 0, and I think they may be
injured. The Mustangs, would have made this a lot closer
game if they actually had a starting QB that was playing,
but played Doug Flutie, instead of Steve McNair. Is this
team abandoned? The Meeks clinch the LANDRY division,
moving to 9-3, and the Mustangs remain on a serious skid,
going to 3-9.

Looney 85
Gizzards 70

The Looney put one in the WIN column in an important
divisional game. Steve Buerline scored 34 points and Peter
Warrick had a good day with 16 for the Looney. Wayne
Cherbet scored 0 points for the Looney, and I have no idea
how, because I watched the Jets\Miami game and he was
catching and getting the ball, but I think there was always
a penalty called when he got it, so he didn't get the
yardage. The Gizzards had consistent scoring, but just not
high enough, Chris Chandler was his higher scorer, with
only 15 points, Edgerrin James only got 12, and Stephen
Davis couldn't bring him back last nite, scoring only 9.
These 2 teams move into a tie in the LANDRY Division, both
at 5-7, and are joined in battle now, for a playoff spot!

Manglers 131
Mules 124

The Manglers score enough to hold on in this game, but only
because the Mules RB Justin Watson didn't play last nite,
with the return of Marshall Faulk to the Rams lineup. The
Manglers high scorer was Rod Smith with 31, Jeff Garcia
added 27 and the Denver DS scored 21. The Manglers had
consistent scoring from all their players. The Mules were
led by Fred Taylor with an astounding 4 TD nite, and 61
BFL points. Rich Gannon added 36 but still fell short of
the win, when 3 Mules players came up with 0 points. The
Manglers move to 7-5, and clinch a playoff spot, while the
defending BFL champion Mules drop to 3-9, and are not going
to repeat as BFL champion this year.

Outlanders 156
Butchers 121

The Outlanders clinch at least a tie for the HALAS division
title with a 35 point win over The Butchers. The Outlanders
have become the team to beat this year, and seem to get
better every week. The man responsible for that is Dante
Culpepper, who scored 59 BFL points this week. Eddie George
added a mere 36, and the Jets DS totalled up 26. The
Outlanders score 156 despite 0 points from Terrell Davis,
who did not play. And The Butchers really had a good day,
very consistent scoring by everybody on the team, led by
Tony Gonzales with 23, Shaun King with 22, Johnnie Morton
19, Quadry Ismail 16. Every position on The Butchers teamed
scored 9 points or over, but just could not match the output
of Dante Culpepper. The Outlanders move to 9-3, remaining
tied with the Meeks for the best record in the league, while
The Butchers fall back into the mix at 5-7, and set up an
interesting last 2 weeks of the BFL season, where everybody
can use a win.

=====================================================

Week 12 MVPs - Fred Taylor in a losing effort and Dante
Culpepper (getting to be a familiar name :) in a winning one.
