2002 Season in review


Delsea lost 4-5 (9 innings)
The Lions left 15 runners on base and struggled to get a "big hit". George Pelletier gave Gloucester the lead in the top of the 9th on a double. The Lions lost the game in the 9th in giving up 2 runs. Ryan Elder was 3-for-4 and Adan Tussey and Vince Londino went 2-for-5. Scott Hillman started the game for Gloucester and struck out 4 in 5 innings.

Glassboro won 10-0 (5 innings)

The Lions evened their record at 1-1 with an impressive pitching performance by Scott Hillman. In 5 innings, Hillman threw a 1 hitter with 5 strikeouts. Erik Beauchamp was 2-for-3 with 2 stolen bases and a run scored. Jeff Parry was 1-for-1 with 2 walks.

Haddon Hts. won 5-1
The Lions raised their record at 2-1 with an impressive pitching performance by Sean Curran, who picked up his first Varsity win of his career. In 6.1 innings, Curran threw a 4 hitter with 5 strikeouts. Vince Londino was 2-for-3 with 2 stolen bases. Jeff Parry was 1-for-3 with a double an RBI and a run scored. George Pelletier was 1-for-2 with a double an RBI and a run scored.

Hammonton lost 1-2
Ryan Elder went 2-for-3 with an RBI. George Pelletier and Adam Tussey had the Lions other 2 hits.

Pennsville lost 7-14
Vince Londino went 3-for-4 with 3 stolen bases. Adam Tussey was 2-for-3 with 2 stolen bases an RBI and a run. Chad Zearfoss was 2-for-3 with 2 RBI.

Schalick won 4-1
The Lions evened their record at 3-3. Sean Curran picked up his second Varsity win of his career. In 5.0 innings, Curran threw a 4 hitter with 4 strikeouts. Eric Beauchamp had a single in the first inning that knocked in two runs.

Gloucester Catholic lost 7-13
The Lions set an offense season record with 13 hits in the game. Vince Londino went 3-for-4 with a triple and a run scored. Adam Tussey was 2-for-4 with a stolen base and a RBI and a run scored. Kevin Rebstock was 2-for-4 with a double and a run scored.

Salem won 7-2
The Lions evened their record at 4-4. Bill Wills picked up the win in his first start (4 INN, 2H, 3K, 2BB, 0R). Vince Londino was 3-for-4 with a double, a run, an RBI and a stolen base. Jeff Parry was 2-for-3 with 2 RBI, a Run and a stolen base. Chad Zearfoss also hit a ball measured at over 500 feet and got a triple out of it.

Pitman lost 4-14
Vince Londino went 2-for-3 with two runs scored and a walk. Adam Tussey was 1-for-2 with a run and a RBI and two walks.

Clayton lost 2-8
The Lions drop to 4-6. Vince Londino had 3 walks and both runs scored. Adam Tussey had a double.

Glassboro won 4-2 (10 innings)
In the 11th inning a leadoff pinch-hit by Kevin Rebstock got things started. BJ Glassmire pinch ran and scored the game winning run on a hit by Jeff Parry. An error got two more runs in. Bill Wills got the win in relief, striking out 7 in 3 innings. Ryan Elder saved the game in the 9th when he threw out the winning run at the plate to keep the game alive. Adam Tussey was 3-for-4 with 2 runs scored.

Pennsville lost 1-13
Gloucester had 2 hits in the loss.

Palmyra won 15-5
In the first game of the Jim Kelly tournament, the Lions "backdoored" Palmyra. Vince Londino danced his way to a 4-for-4 day with 2 doubles, 2 RBI' s and 2 stolen bases. Chad Zearfoss was 2-for-4 with an RBI . George Pelletier was was also 2-for-4 with an RBI. Ryan Elder added a triple. Tom Havers got the win in relief.

Gateway won 10-6
The lions won the tournament in the second game of the Jim Kelly tournament and evened their record to 7-7. Ryan Elder was 2-for-3 with a triple and a RBI. Vince Londino and George Pelletier added doubles. BJ Glassmire was 1-for-2 with 2 runs scored and got the win in relief.

Salem won 10-6 (8 inn)
Ryan Elder was 1-for-2 with a run and a RBI. Vince Londino hit his first homerun of the year. Chad Zearfoss was 2-for-4 with a double and a triple and 2 RBI. George Pelletier was 2-for-3 with a run and a RBI. BJ Glassmire had a bases loaded triple. Sean Curran got the win.

Clayton won 10-8
Ryan Elder was 1-for-2 with a run and 2 stolen bases. Vince Londino hit his first homerun of the year. Chad Zearfoss was 2-for-4 with a triple and a double, a run and 2 RBI. George Pelletier was 2-for-3 with a run scored. Sean Curran got the win.

Cumberland won 7-3
Scott Hillman was 4-for-4 with a run and a RBI. John Redheffer was 1-for-2 with 2 runs and a RBI. Jeff Parry was 2-for-3 with a run and a RBI. George Pelletier was 2-for-4 with a double. Chad Zearfoss was 2-for-4 with 2 RBI. Bill Wills got the win, giving up 5 hits in 5 innings..

St. Augustine lost 5-15
Gloucester had 6 hits in the loss. Adam Tussey was 2-for-4 with a run scored. John Redheffer was 2-for-4.

Pennsgrovre won 13-3
Chad Zearfoss was 3-for-3 with a double, a run and 2 RBI. Ryan Elder went 1-for-2 with his first homerun of the year, as well as 4 RBI and 3 runs scored. Bill Wills got the win, giving up 3 hits in 5 innings..

West Deptford lost 4-7
Gloucester had 2 hits in the loss. Chad Zearfoss had a double that knocked in 3 runs. Jeff Parry had the other hit.

Gloucester Catholic lost 0-10
Gloucester was no hit in this game. Sean Curran pitched a good game, but picked up the loss

Schalick won 13-2
The Lions are now 12-10. Chad Zearfoss was 2-for-3 with a double, a run and 2 RBI. Scott Hillman was 3-for-3 with 2 runs scored. Bill Wills got the win, pitching in 2 innings.

Florence (playoff) lost 0-6
The Lions managed 3 hits in the game.

Pitman lost 0-2
Vince Londino walked 3 times. Bill Wills got a double and pitched a good game in the loss. Gloucester finishd the season at 12-12.
