Everytime I hear an announcer gush about how strong his arm is, I can't help but think...."Strong? Yes. Accurate? Uh, yes, if the beer vendor in row 10 is your target." And imagine how bad he would have been without a Gold Glove first baseman saving his ass. Never saw a Cub milk his "potential" as long as this guy did. (OK, Jerome Walton is a close 2nd). We are still waiting to see this "potential" Why the Cubs resigned this chronic back problem for a second tour baffles me. 2/12/98

You are absolutely correct. Shawon always did just enough to get another contract extension. Hard to believe that was the #1 pick of the entire draft in the early '80s.
