Mark Grace

The Mr. Cub of '90s!
All right ... Here he is ... What do you think?
Other than the tired complaint that he doesn't hit homers, What is not to like about Grace? He is the ultimate team player. He plays hard, He consistantly hits, he is a Gold Glover... It makes me wonder, with a guy this talented, why haven't the Cubs dumped him yet?
Here's What Other Miserable Cubs Fans Have Had to Say ...
He's BEAUTIFUL!!! Can I take him home with me? 7/19/97
All Right, As Harry Would Say Grace is Indeed "A Handsome Young Man," HOWEVER
Let's Keep Our Eyes On the Ball and Not on the Physical Features of the Players. OK Folks?
You know, I've felt for a long time that the Cubs would have been better off with
Palmerio...but now it looks like he's a Cub for life...and we wonder why we never win it all. 7/24/97
I was puzzled when they traded Palmeiro (wouldn't it be great if Palmeiro was playing LF?!?!), but Grace has more
than proven his worth. Remember the 1989 Playoffs? Grace was almost carrying the team with his bat. He's done his best to help
the Cubs attempt to "win it all."
Mark Grace is the only Cub That you could build around. He is the
only player on the team that shows up everyday. I believe he has 60+ walks, the
next closest player has 30???. This shows that he is the only patient hitter on
the team. He has a great glove and is a constant .330ish hitter. Grace is
underated and deserves all or more than he is currently paid. 7/29/97
Grace is a throwback player that you cant help but respect..he reminds me of
Stan Musial that type of player...i only wish we had nine of him. 8/8/97
Speaking of Grace ... Here's a Video Profile/Interview done by Channel 9 News on #17.
