The Front Office
being a CUBBIE FAN for way too long I finally think WE GOT A CHANCE IN 98!! we made some good pick ups and spent some of the tribs money! i am pi..ed at wgn for cutting back on my games I can see though, we also got screwed by tci cablevision. they dropped wgn! guess I'll have to spend more time at the bar watching the dish!....GO CUBS!! LOST IN OHIO 2/18/98
I'm actually a Detroit Tigers fan, but I have become a Cubs fan because of WGN. It's so sad to see the cubs lose every single year. I can't take it!! At least the tigers win once in a while. Dump Servais, dump Riggleman, dump the front office, dump the pitching staff. 12/11/97
Does anyone find it ironic that the man who now leads the Cubs (Ed Lynch) is the same guy who started the biggest bench-clearing brawl ever at Wrigley? For those of you who don't know I'll fill you in: The date: August 6, 1984. The Cubs are in the middle of a huge series with the Mets. The pitchers of both teams had been trading bean balls all day. When Keith Moreland stepped to the plate, that all changed. Ed Lynch drilled Moreland smack in the left shoulder, and all hell broke loose. Moreland responded by beating the living hell out of Lynch and the rest of the team helped with kicking the crap out of Mookie, Hernandez, and all the other retarded Mets. I think Lynch's climb to the top of the Cubs organization is just a plot to destroy the Cubs as revenge for that sticky August afternoon, 11/6/97
I think there is much improvement needed. But now that we have Johnson, Grace, Sosa, and Dunston(once we get him back), I think there is a bright future for us. I think we have a good chance of succeeding in future years. Improvement takes time and time is all we need. But this is all coming from an optimist. 10/17/97
I refuse to step foot in Wrigley Field again until I see some positive commitment to winning a world series. Oh well, it was nice knowing you Wrigley Field!!! 10/11/97
When are they going to get a good team, and win some games. I'm tired of people hounding me because I like the Cubs. I would like some day be able to look at them, and say they're the world champs of major league baseball. 9/19/97
How about that trade! A few years ago when we got Brian McRae I couldnt have been happier, but feelings change and now I am even happier to see him go. And Rojas, good riddance. Too bad the Turk had to go. Wish the Cubs could have worked out a trade with Seattle for Jose Cruz Jr. for Rojas and Wendell back in July. 8/8/97
As long as the Tribne Company sells Wrigley Field and Harry instead of a winning team, the Cubs will continue to be those not so-loveable losers. 8/8/97
Well by now you have probabley heard of the "Blockbuster" trade that Ed Lynch finally pulled off...too little, too late....I love the trade myself...Sure I loved Brian McRae roaming center field in the confines, but a change was needed somewhere....Brian wasnt producing like he can so he in someways became the managment's scapegoat...But if Lance Johnson can stay healthy, i think he can provide the spark that I initially thought Brian could when he first came to \ Chicago. It is time Shawon Dunston give way to someone else at short..and i think Manny Alexander could be interesting at that position.Mark Clark, well dont know too much about him, but my people tell me he is solid. 8/8/97
Well, when it comes to these guys -- Who really knows???
