If you ever get to meet Ziggy you will find out very quickly what the rest of us already know, Ziggy loves kites! He also has a true passion for kite building. He can simply look at a kite and figure out complicated construction issues. He can also tweak a stunt kite bridle to perform like never before. The creater is pictured with one of his favorite stunt kites. Ziggy not only enjoys his own kites he also loves to spread the pleasure of kite flying to others. Ziggy attended a kite festival in his native Poland in 2001. He performed demonstrations for all that attended. There was more to it than just attending a kite festival. A request for kite donations from other kite flyers was made prior to going to Poland. Many kite fliers donated all sorts of kites long been put away. Now remember kite flyers only put kites away when they get something newer to fly. Many of the kies were in almost new condition. They were packed in with the rest of Ziggy's kites for the flight. The free kites were handed out to many of the children attending the Polish festival. The look on the faces of the youngsters as they flew their "new" kites will be remembered and treasured by Ziggy for many years. |

Early on Ziggy bought many of his stunt kites but soon realized how rewarding it was to make and fly kites he had made with his own hands. Recently he has started applying applique on his kites. I would say his sewing is coming along very nicely wouldn't you? |
Another sample of Ziggy's applique progress. He has inspired many of the clubs members to build their own kites. Once you get to know Ziggy's fire it's pretty infectious! Two other Wind Climber members are now making quad kites which should be ready this spring | ![]() |

Kite building has now now come full circle for Ziggy. He started building stunt kites and Quad kites but now he is also building single line kites. A single line Rokkaku kite is now in the works. With all the kite projects that have been made in the last few years there is lots of left over rods and materials for kite building. If you are in need of some parts for your own project email Ziggy Racek first to find out if he has what you need. He may just have that little something stashed away at home. It's time to clear a few things out the house before his wife gets mad at him. |
