"Nothing to Cry About" and Other Poems

A Love Song
The mention of my child's name
may bring tears to my eyes,
But it never fails to bring
Music to my ears.
If your really are my friend,
Please don't keep me
From hearing the beautiful music-
It soothes my broken heart
And fills my soul with love.

Poem for a Miscarriage

Our Heroes are our Angels:)

Nothing to Cry About

We had no funeral, no need for one.
We never even met you and couldn't bring you home.
There was no time to buy you anything.
Just enough time to know you were coming.
-Yet, I have nothing to cry about!

People say we "should be happy" that it happened
soon because:
Something must have been wrong,
That God must have wanted it that way or
That we never started your bedroom
-Yet, I have nothing to cry about!

We have nothing to sort through,
No Barbies or baseball hats,
no favorite bear with the torn ear,
Not even your blankie.
We have no memories of your first smile, words or steps.
We have no lock of hair, your first loose tooth or even one photograph.
We're not sure what to name you.
-Yet, I have nothing to cry about!

What we do have is unanswered questions of what you would have looked like, the color of your hair, your sex, the length of your long fingers. Your "would have been" birthdays, Christmases, summers, and our "would have been" Mothers and Father's Days.

-Yet, I have nothing to cry about!

This poem touches my heart also, as we have also had two early miscarriages.
Baby at 11 weeks in 1993, and Baby at 7 weeks in 1997.
Nothing anyone can say will ever take away the fact that these two babies were my babies, and I will always remember them.
Actually, without losing them, I'd have never had my daughter or my youngest son. I became pregnant with both of these shortly after these miscarriages.
So I must try to remember that God has a plan for each of us.
We can only trust that what he has in store for us will be wonderful. And what he has given to us is soooo wonderful!
