words of wisdom
ex-employee
Jan-9-03 13:27
Listen... as much as I dislike Mr. DeMaio and his business practices. Posting his house address and maybe going to pay him a visit is not the smartest thing to do, 2 wrongs DONT make a right!

I know how upsetting it can be to be taken for a ride or being the blunt of someones personal attack (especially with this guy), and I know at times you just want to say screw it and play as dirty as they do, but you must restrain yourself.

A good friend of mine once said to me "The wheels of justice turn real slow, extremely slow in-fact. You just have to hang in there and let things take there course" at the time I was just as mad as you guys are, but by sinking to his level, you are only going to cause yourself problems.

Pat: "I want to be like Bob someday. He has chicks and money and he's so cool"

Tom: "If you can jump, you can go real far in this company"

Jennifer: "You have a bad attitude"

Dennis: "You can't leave your desk unless I tell you. I want you to sign this 'bad employee' form"

Brian: "Bob is suing the guy who contracted out the last bidbar, who never paid his employees and used the money Bob gave him to buy a Ferrari. The employees were wondering where their paychecks were"

Brian: "Bob is suing Wells Fargo for giving out personal data"
Brian: "The checks didn't cash because Wells Fargo is in a lawsuit with USBank"

The answer to your question is no. See "Civil Cases" topic below. He has thousands of dollars in judgments, bankruptcies and tax liens.

He has no money. He spends any and all the money he is ever given, and there hasn't been enough people to hunt him down and pursue the issue.

I can't imagine dear Bob paying off the Labor Comission people. Afterall, paying anyone doesn't seem to be the way he operates. I do wonder if the Commission isn't just a bureaucratic quagmire that takes forever and/or never does anything but shuffle paper around. The Claim forms make it pretty clear that once you sign them, the Commission can do just about what it wants to with your Claim.

Well I am sure that the media presence, will be enough to continue "investigating Mr. Demaio", as well as past claims...that maybe the Labor Commissioner *overlooked*. Which looks like what happened in that case. But If the media gets a hold of that story, Mr. Pat McNamara sure looks like he may a good chance of sueing the state for negligence in that matter...hmmm...amongst other things, and actually winning---probably the only way he will every get compensated for what happened to him.

Get a Good Attorney, and Sue the State, Mr. McNamara!!!

Dot1scams
Jan-8-03 23:41
...Well besides this forum. It seems that the only way that any of the ex-employees are going to get paid is if Bob files for bankruptcy which looks like its on the verge of happening. But could we push it along a little by telling all the Dot1web merchants that we don't appreciate them doing business with Dot1web. And 99% of them don't even know that they are a Dot1web merchant. Another little scam Dot1web had going. Most of the business signed up for http://www.webwidemarketplace.com/ don't know it because they hired data processors to sign up the business, and make generic web sites for them without them knowing it. Supposedly some time in the future they where going go notify them about being part of the Dot1web network. If you do a search on this page http://www.webwidemarketplace.com/searchbykeyword.asp for "all" with page results set to a hundred it gives you a list of Dot1web merchants totalling 274. I think there is something close to 1500 merchants but I may be way off give or take. You can search in your area and tell business what they are apart of knowingly or unknowingly. May be we should alert them to this little snafu.

I noticed on their merchant list that most merchants had multiple listings. One merchant had his business listed over thirty times. This directory is really cheezy and I don't know why anyone in there right mind would even mess with it. Also, the auctions are a joke. I thought that all auctions had an end, not Dot1web auctions! I bid on a book once that was listed for well over a year. Everytime you thought you had it won, they extended the damn thing another week. There is nothing but a bunch of over priced junk, looks like a Sanford & Son garage sale. I am convinced that this whole thing was a scam from the start in order to bilk $$$$$$$$$$ from innocent investors. Oh ya, almost forgot. What about those valuable Web Dollars? BULLSHIT!!!

Go to this site, and see for yourself that this is not a one time occurance.

BOB:Yes
FBI:Please come with me, we need to talk to you
BOB:About what?
FBI:Its about bounced checks
BOB:O Well that 248,000 check didnt bounce the bank didnt have the money on hand to give them.
FBI:Mr. Demaio it says on the check insufficient funds.
BOB:Well thats because I changed account and they were issued a check from the wrong bank.
FBI:We have checked all your bank accounts and we see that you dont have enough to cover any of the bounced checks.
BOB:Well, it wasnt me it must have been Franco for setting up that deal, wait it must of been Warkinten for giving the authorization to send the check, or wait it must have Colin Quinn for signing that check, or wait it must have been my cranked up assistant for mailing that check, I told her not to send it.
FBI:There are other problems Mr. Demaio
BOB:What problems-my company is moving towards profitiability in the next quarter.
FBI:Its about these over the counter withdrawls and your debt at Ceasers Tahoe
BOB:Well that wasnt me it was my evil twin brother he must of had made a fake ID with my name on it and counterfitted my fingerprint and signature, no it must have been my wife she wanted the sporty little yellow car she wanted the big house in Tahoe, she wanted more kids---it wasnt me it wasnt me it wasnt me.

TahoeBonanza: Why did the checks bounce?

BOB: because the bank dropped me.

TB: Why did the bank drop you?

BOB: For some reason, I don't know why, but people kept cashing their checks rather than depositing them. Since I only hire salaried employees and not slave laborers, and since my workers are the highest paid in the city, the bank was running out of cash. So the bank couldn't afford my employees. It's the bank's fault. They should have had more cash on hand for my highly-paid employees.

I'm worried now that my federal income taxes were never really deducted from my paychecks. What if they never honestly deducted my taxes? Am I going to get a visit from the IRS? How do I verify that my paychecks had deductions included?

If this guy Demaio is such a great Christian, than how come he constantly violated the 10 Commandments? Doesn't writing bad checks violate the 9th commandment of Thou Shalt Not Be A False Witness?

There is a local IRS Tax Revenue Officer, that actually filed an IRS tax lien against Drive4u.com, last year. You can reach her at this #775-824-2234 ext 2770. Her name is Carolina Tafoya. You can also view this tax lien on the Washoe County Recorders website, by entering Drive4u in the grantor/grantee section.

She should be able to give you information or, if anything, direct you to the correct department.

I worked in engineering at dot1, and like many others I am still waiting to be paid for work done up to the 'big layoff." After wading through all venting, etc., on this forum, I have a question that, perhaps, some of you could answer. In the face of all this turmoil, how are they managing to keep the web servers up and running? To the rest of the world out there, it still looks like this company is up and running. Is it?

As far as I know just a couple of CSRs are still working for free from out of their homes, thats what I've heard. As far as I know who is keeping the web and others servers up and running I'm not sure maybe its Brian Wanaugh or one or two others from the engineering management. So all they are able to do is sign up new ISP users and cancel users, and not too much else from what I can see. Believe me an average day in the CSR department normally had as many cancels a day as new sign ups. The most sign ups I've seen them get in a day is about 15. In fact and I'm not joking I've had people call up and cancel before they've even made an account, and its also not uncommon to have a user sign up and cancel in the same day. Also I'm pretty sure that they have less then a thousand ISP users counting investors that also used the ISP.

What would be the point of filing a wrongful termination suit? He has no money people! He has SEVERAL judgments, bankruptcies and tax liens against him. He was so lame that he bought his yellow midlife crisis sportcar outright and its now pledged and going to be taken from him to pay off the rent debt owed to the Parasol building. Don't waste your money trying to get your money! He has none. File a complaint with the Labor Commissioner.

(2) He ALWAYS has at least a quater to half a million in law suits going at any given time.

(3) You WILL have to take him to court to get it. Even your paycheck. (He knows only 2 in 10 go though with it.)
