When the guardian and the Quarter Masters are exchanging lights, they will complete a circuit initiated at the El Sharath. The Lucifer initiated the Quarter Lights. Now the Quarter Lights are adding their special qualities to the Lucifer.
Flying is a rhythmic bobbing of the torso. Remember, the circle is now a microcosm in the Fifth Dimension. Every foot could take us a mile or a league. So, flying recognizes this.
The priest is on the left-hand path, recognizing the individual setting out to establish new territory. The priestess is on the right-hand Path, recognizing the community setting out to cultivate the territory already held. Because we require each side of the path, in deed, one side would not exist until we see the other, the Guardian walks both sides of the path. The Guardian represents the Ancient, who is the first to originate. The priests escort the Guardian to ensure the task is well served. They are like the ravens of Odin, memory and thought, who travel wherever he does.
