What Are The Articles of Faith?
In 1842 Mr. John Wentworth, the editor and owner of a newspaper called the Chicago Democrat, wrote to Joseph Smith for information about the Latter-day Saints.
The Prophet's response, which is sometimes called "The Wentworth Letter", covered all major LDS Church historical events to that date in a simple and concise manner. Included at the end was an easy to understand summary of LDS beliefs that later became known as The Articles of Faith.
