One of my favourite RPGs and definately the most fun RPG on the SNES is Earthbound (called Mother 2 in Japan). Right now I'd like to thank Shigesato Itoi, the brilliant mind behind the soon-to-be trilogy. Submitted for your approval, here are some pics of said RPG.

So there. The game is loads of mega fun. It's the only RPG I've ever seen in a sort-of realistic modern day environment, and very much a fan-loved game. If anyone knows about Super Smash Bros. Ness (the main character in Earthbound) is a hidden character in that game, and quite possibly the most popular charcter of all due to this game's huge fanbase. I suggest you give it a shot, since a copy of the game shouldn't be too hard to find.
