The Legend of Zelda: The Ocarina of Time is what most claim to be "The game of the 20th century". I thought it was too easy.
This game has a few hidden things. For example, if you show off your ocarina to the scarecrows near Lake Hylia as a kid, "Pierre the Traveling Scarecrow" will be impressed and you will get a song which can summon him in some choice areas. If you go to a puddle in a cave in the middle of Hyrule field near the castle, you will find a fish in it. If you swing with a bottle to catch one and switch it to a useless item in mid-swing, you will get an extra bottle in exchange for the item! Also, as a kid, another cheat is that there is a cave near a tree at Hyrule Castle, near where you originally find Talon. There is a portal in the middle of the room, and a golden skultula behind a blow-upable wall. When the token is free, if you swing with your boomerang and in midswing jump into the portal. The skultula will reappear but the token will still count! Of these I only recommend using the scarecrow.
