Login in is pretty self explanitory, but gettting connected to the server of your choice can be confusing.

Pirch comes with a built-in server list. Picard is not a part of that list at this time. So follow the example above and type picard into the server box fill in the other boxes, pick a nick you wish to be known by online and then hit connect.

Once logged on, you will see a button that says channels. If you hit this you will get a list of active channels in the right box. Highlight a channel and right click, you will see join active channel.

PREFS

DCC

1. Click On PREFS
   (in the upper right-hand corner next to Chat)
   • DCC Options:
     1. Click on Keep Dcc Tranaction Log to put a check mark.
     2. Click Fill Spaces to put a check mark.
   • Packet Size:
     1. Change Packet Size to:
        • 8192 For A 28.8 Modem or Better
        • 4096 For A 14.4 Modem
   • Timeouts:
     1. Change Chat to 9999
     2. Change File to 9999
   • Default DCC Paths:
     1. Make the default download and upload paths to where you will want to keep your wavs. Example: c:\wavs\ Files sent to you will go to this directory, thus to protect your pirch setups it is not adviced to send files directly to pirch.

     2. Bios should go to your pirch directory.
        

   You must CLICK OK everytime you change ANYTHING in Prefs!!!!
   
2. Media Tab:
   • Sound Options:
     1. Click on Enable Sounds
     2. Click On Display error message when media file not found
     3. Click display media events even if no message is attached.
   • Default Sound Path:
     1. Change to your sound path Example: c:\wavs\

Misc Prefs
(these are personal choice settings)

1. General tab:
   1. Private Notice Destination:
   2. Click on Active Window to put a dot there.
      
2. Private Messages/Notices:
   1. Click on Use dedicated Message Windows.
      1. Scroll Buffer Size:
         1. Change Lines to 1000
      2. Connections:
         1. Server Connection Time should be 30
         2. Click on Auto reconnect on disconnect.
3. Ops Tab:
   1. Channel Operator Control Panel:
      • Left Click on Show Op Control Panel when Ops are Granted
4. Flood Tab:
   • Outgoing Flood Control Settings:
     1. Left Click on Enable Flood Control
     2. Change Flood Delay Rate to 2000
     3. Change Flood Limit to 4
   • CTCP Flood Control:
     1. Left Click on Enable CTCP Flood Control
     2. Change Accept CTCP from an address no faster than to 4000
5. Logs Tab:
   • Auto Log:
     1. These are your personal choice...If you want to keep track of the rooms and
     2. Left Click on the ones you want to keep a log for.
   • Auto reset Logs:
     1. Click on Never (Manual).
   • Log Directory:
     1. Make a Folder in your Pirch Folder and name it Logs
     2. Change the Log Directory to c:\your pirch directory\logs
6. Misc Tab:
   • Misc:
     1. Click on Enhanced Events Format
     2. Click on Auto Rewrap Text
   • Default Sign Off Message:
     1. Enter any Message you want when exiting.
   • Edit Height Adjust:
     1. Change it to 4

   CLICK OK TO SAVE SETTINGS!!!

   You must CLICK OK everytime you change ANYTHING in Prefs!!!!
