Hi, I am the mascot from Painted Post, NY. Here is what I have been up to!
Sept. 23, 1999
Well, I made my appearance today in Oneida, TN. The kids hugged me and greeted me.
They said I was really soft and furry. They want me to stay a long time. They want to take me to recess but they don't want me to get dirty. So I stay in the room and rest.
I love Mrs. Rachel's class!

Well, I am on my way to Florida. I will miss Miss Rachel's Class. We had lots of
fun. They are anxiously awaiting the arrival of another mascot. We wonder who will be here next!

The kindergartners in Mrs. Knezek's Kindergarten class
were so excited when the mail came today. They said, "Twinkle is darling. We love
puppets and we love lions too!" I will help them perform a Christmas
program for the parents. We will sing many Christmas songs. Our
favorites are Santa Claus is Coming to Town and Jingle Bells! I am excited to spend
Christmas in Texas. Mrs. Knezek will take me to her house during
the holidays....so I won't get lonesome at school.
Look for some cool pictures of me on the web site
next week sometime...and enjoy!

Thank you for
letting me spend a month and a half with Mrs. Knezek's class. I have learned to
read many new things. I also enjoyed watching the children write stories
about their adventures with me. The kids can't wait to see who is coming to visit Buda, Texas next!

I liked our gingerbread houses. We used milk cartons and
crackers and candy. We stuck them with frosting. It was so very
good. It was a good time for all of us.
We read The Gingerbread Baby. We acted out the story. It was so fun
to chase the gingerbread baby. They tried to catch him in the story
but they can't. The people and the animals ran after him. We won't
tell you the end. You should read the book.
I liked our poem "Quiet as a Mouse". I liked our mouse
book. Are we going to learn about mice?
