Sept. 15, 1999
I am off to Mrs. Gaines' kindergarten class and look forward to meeting all of her children. I also look forward to meeting the other classes of children over the next six months. I am so excited! Please ask me to tell you all he knows about bears. I love to show off how smart I am. I can tell you that bears eat berries and fish, bears hibernate, bears have sharp claws, and bears live in the mountains. Can you tell me some other things you know about bears?

I have been watching people. I liked getting measured. I like to play with all of my new friends in Mrs. Gaines' Class. We had a real bat in our classroom. The principal found it on the flagpole. We let the bat go. It is too noisy in our room for a bat. And he eats too much food and we can't catch that many insects. It can eat 600 insects in one hour. We have been learning about bats. We learned how they eat. They hang upside down in the day. They sleep in the daytime and fly at night. Bats can scare people, but we're not scared of bats. Echolocation is how bats find their food.

I had a fun time at Seneca, MO. I had a good day for catching insects. They had a big class. There are 23 kids in the class. We had center time, played outside for recess, listened when we were reading charts, and studied about spiders. I learned that spiders make webs, have enemies, and can run after insects to catch them. I can catch insects too. The kids said, "It is good that Bubba learned about spiders so he can eat them for dinner." I am leaving for Avon Lake, OH today by Federal Express.

I had a wonderful time with Mrs. Blankenship's Class. The kids enjoyed flying me to the different centers. I helped do math, reading, centers and celebrate birthdays.The kids are sorry to see me go.

November 23, 1999

I have arrived in Boston, Massachusetts. We will have a Thanksgiving luncheon with the class tomorrow. Then I will have a 5 day vacation. Talk to you next week. I will try to send pictures of our luncheon.

February 23, 2000

I was with Mrs. Jones' Class for part of January and part February. I learned about penguins. I helped the volunteers with R&R Express. I also helped the kids pass out valentines. I was there for the 100th Day fun. Mrs. Jones hid 100 hearts and we got to find them.
