Old Quote
"Hello, Rabbit," Pooh said, "is that you?"
"Let's pretend it isn't," said Rabbit, "and see what happens"
"I've got a message for you" said Pooh.
"I'll give it to him" said Rabbit.

Old Quote It was going to be one of Rabbit's busy days.  As soon as he woke up he felt important, as if everything depended on him.  It was just the day for Organising Something, or for Writing a Notice Signed Rabbit, or for Seeing What Everybody Else Thought About It.  It was a perfect morning for hurrying round to Pooh, and saying "Very well then, I'll tell Piglet," and then going to Piglet and saying "Pooh thinks ... but maybe I'd better see Owl first."  It was a Captainish sort of day, when everybody said "Yes, Rabbit" and "No, Rabbit," and waited until he had told them.

Old Quote "Owl," said Rabit shortly, "you and I have brains.  The others have fluff.  If there is any thinking to be done in this Forest - and when I say thinking I mean thinking - you and I must do it."

Old Quote "Rabbit's clever," said Pooh thoughtfully.
"Yes," said Piglet, "Rabbit's clever."
"And he has Brain."
"Yes," said Piglet, "Rabbit has Brain."
There was a long silence.
"I suppose," said Pooh, "that that's why he never understands anything."

Old Quote One day when he felt he couldn't wait any longer, Rabbit brained out a Notice, and this is what it said:
"Notice a meeting of everbody will meet at the House at Pooh Corner to pass  a Rissolution By Order Keep to the Left Signed Rabbit."
He had to write this out two or three times before he could get the rissolution to look like what he thought it was going to when he began to spell it.

Old Quote "It all comes," said Rabbit sternly,"of eating too much. I thought at the time," said Rabbit, "only I didn't like to say anything," said Rabbit, "that one of us was eating too much," said Rabbit, "and I knew it wasn't me," he said.

Old Quote
"Here we are," said Rabbit, "all of us, and then, suddenly, we wake up one morning and what do we find? We find a Strange Animal among us. An animal of whom we had never even heard before! An animal who carries her family about with her in her pocket!"

Old Quote
"You can't help respecting anybody who can spell TUESDAY, even if he doesn't spell it right; but spelling isn't everything. There are days when spelling Tuesday simply doesn't count."

Old Quote
"Pooh," said Piglet reproachfully, "haven't you been listening to what Rabbit was saying?"  "I listened, but I had a small piece of fluff in my ear.  Could you say it again, please, Rabbit?"
Rabbit never minded saying things again, so he asked where he should begin from; and when Pooh had said from the moment when the fluff got in his ear, and Rabbit had asked when that was, and Pooh had said he didn't know because he hadn't heard properly, Piglet settled it all by explaining.
