Are you a new homesteader in the Enchanted Forest?
Great! I'm glad that you stopped by :)
This page is to help you get moved in to your Geocities site, one step at a time. If you still don't understand then please don't hesitate to contact me, Snowaltz :)
1. Do you remember that welcome letter that Geocities sent to you? It had your username, password, and a bunch of other stuff? Well first find that letter.
2. Did you find it? Great! Now go to http://www.oocities.org/members/tools/file_manager2.html.
*note* To keep this page here, and to go into your file manager at the same time, "right-click" on the above address with your mouse, and select "Open in new window" This will give you two windows to work with, this one and your file manager.
Now enter your username and password from that letter you just pulled up. Press submit.
3. Now you have made it into the file manager! Good for you! You should see something like
Geocities File Manager
YourAddress/numbers
membername
Scroll down a little bit more and you should see something that has Name, Last Modified, Last Accessed, and Size at the top. Below you should see:
index.html
Move your mouse over to that little white box in your file manager and make a check by it. (note: do this in YOUR file manager not on the one above) :)
Scroll down until you see
Choose Your Editor:
*note* don't do anything to the one above! this should be in your file manager.
Now, go to your file manager and click on the little black triangle. Good! One of the options is "Basic HTML Editor". Move your mouse to this option and click on it once. Now, above this are some buttons that say "Edit" and "Copy" and "Delete" etc... Make sure that the box beside index.html is checked, then click Edit.
Congratulations you can now edit your page!
