Flip, Flap Penguins
by Brittany, age 9
They flip and flap,
they boo and clap,
they laugh and cry,
they say "Good Bye!"
They live in a cold place,
with ice and snow,
they're black and white,
from head to toe.
They eat krill (fish)
They are a kind of bird,
they cannot fly,
they're not much heard.
What? THEY ARE GREAT BIG/SMALL, WONDERFUL PENGUINS!
Sun, Smile
by Kelsey, age 12
Sun, smile down on the day
Come free Spring from her snowy prison
And make her green dress glisten.
Wrap your warm arms all 'round the wind
Making it fit for summer.
Bring your light to winter-bound hearts,
Making them full of joy...
Rush
by Rachelle, age 10
Rush said the owl
A cold winter night to come
Cold as snow
get to your
house and close your door
eat all to keep warm
long will snow
legends do say
a night eagle
eats all.
Dreaming Of Space
by Karleen, age 9
I imagine I'll go to space one day,
I dream of it in my own special way.
Up above the clouds in the sky,
In a place so very high.
You'd float as high as high can be,
And I imagine all the things that I can see.
Stars and planets scatter round,
I think that space is very profound.
Comets and asteroids zooming around,
But to my surprise there is no sound.
But as lonely as it may seem,
I know I'm only seeing it in my dream.
Fred the Frog
by David Macleod
Have you heard of Fred the frog
and his best friend, who's a dog
every morning they both jog
whether raining or in fog
they don't even mind the smog
as they run past lazy Hog
avoiding stepping on Hedgehog
as they run beside the bog
crossing over on a log
and at the end of their footslog
to tierd to have a dialogue
they sit and eat a large hotdog
and have a glass of cool eggnog
but despite that it is such a slog
for this frog and dog to jog
they end up play leaping frog
while lazy Hog looks on agog
Wow!! Visitors since November 7th, 1998
