OTHER INTRIGUING FACTS:
Marty Feldman dropped out of school at the age of 15,
determined to become a jazz trumpeter. However, this dream did not pan out, so
he turned to comedy.
Feldman's trademark was his far-from-perfect appearance. His nose
was damaged in a boxing match in his youth. But more noticeably, his eyes bulged
out as the result of both a hyperactive thyroid and a botched operation
following a car accident he was in.
He was a guest on "Hollywood Squares" three times
(1972, 1973, 1975) and a performer on "The Muppet Show" once (1980).
He became best-known for his appearances in Mel Brooks'
hilarious movies, Young Frankenstein and Silent Movie.
