OTHER INTRIGUING FACTS:
In 1975, Phil Hartman joined the comedy troupe The
Groundlings. It was in this group that he met Paul Rubens, otherwise known as
"Pee Wee Herman." They would work together on a few later occasions.
Some of his best imitations were Bill Clinton, Frank
Sinatra, Ed McMahon, Burt Reynolds, Jack Nicholson, Ronald Reagan, Barbara Bush,
and Phil Donahue. Just about every sketch he did on Saturday Night Live
was a gem.
He was the designer of the logo for Crosby, Stills, &
Nash.
He was originally going to do the voice for Zapp in Matt
Groening's "Futurama," but due to his untimely death, the part
had to be given to someone else.
Ironically, he died the same month as Frank Sinatra - who was
one of his favourite people to impersonate on Saturday Night Live.
