Jordan's JDMS Diary

February 1999

Monday - Feb 1
We picked Jordan up from school at 4:30 (she had choir practice) then we had just enough time to take her home and change clothes for basketball practice. They scrimmaged another team for about 30 minutes and Jordan did very good.
Tuesday - Feb 2
Jennifer had a game in Austin tonight. They won! The team must now win on Friday to make it to the playoffs. I'd like to think I had something to do with the win. I fixed one of Jen's friends (the lead post on the team) for a debutante ball on Saturday. She asked what she owed me. I asked her what was the most points she ever made. She told me 28, so I told her she owned me 35 points. Well, believe it or not, she made the 35 points. Most of the players mothers had heard about her debt and were counting down the points throughout the game. We had a good time watching the points add up. We all were so excited, I may have to fix her hair again before Fridays game. hahaha Jordan enjoyed the game too.
Wednesday - Feb 3
PT Assistant J came by the beauty school at 4:00 to see Jordan. They did a few stretches but mostly chatted. But Jordan was convinced that she could to a forward roll. She did great. She was a little afraid, but after a few times, her confidence gradually built up. I think and hope she will be trying it more often now.
Thursday - Feb 4
Friday - Feb 5
Jennifer had another game. It was really exciting. They won which put the team in a tie for 3rd place. If they win on Thursday, they will go to the playoffs. Naturally, we hope they do.
Saturday - Feb 6
Jordan had a game this morning. Even though scores aren't recorded or kept, I kept track and they won! About an hour later she went to Walmart to sell girl scout cookies. They had fun.
Sunday - Feb 7
We drove to Temple today. We saw Joe's parents and brother's family. After we visited for while, we went to my brothers for his younges sons first birthday. Jordan had a good time with all the kids.
Monday - Feb 8
I made Jordan a poodle skirt today. She and her "guy" are going to a 50's bowling party on Saturday for girl scouts. I'm not sure if her guy will be her daddy or brother. We'll have to see.
Tuesday - Feb 9
Wednesday - Feb 10
We got a new pc tonight. Joe surprised me with a beautiful computer center for it. It's going to take me a while to get everything on here but I'm enjoying it so far. Jordan's happy too. We moved the old one to Joeys room and now she can play games while I'm on the net.
Thursday - Feb 11
Jordan started complaining that her arm hurts. I can't see anything visible except for a small bruise a few inches above her elbow. She says it hurts closer to the shoulder and under her arm. Otherwise, she had a great day. She received her first Valentines gift from a little boy. I'm just not ready for this at all. I did let her buy him a small gift because he had already told her that he was buying her something. I was hoping for a little more time. I knew she had said she liked him a few months ago, but hadn't really mentioned him much lately. Oh, well, guess I'll have to get used to it sooner or later. We went to another basketball game tonight. Jen's team had to playoff for 3rd place in district. They WON! Jennifer was so excited, she was jumping up and down crying. It was a terrific game. We will now play our next game in Temple on Tuesday. Ironically, that where Joe and I graduated from. They will play against Bryan, which is where my father went to high school. When I told my girls that we graduated there, Jordan commented that it must be an old gym! We laughed. It has been almost 24 years. Surely they've painted or remodeled....heheehe. All our Temple relatives have been called and invited. I have 2 neices that attend Temple, so I expect they will be there. It's exciting for all of us.
Friday - Feb 12
Jordan had a friend stay over last night and Jenn brought the girls to the beauty school around 12:00. Jordan and her friend went around the corner to the pet shop with a few dollars. I had know idea you could get a pregnant fish that may deliver up to 30 babies for less than 2 dollars. My mistake for thinking Jordan would bring back some toy or food for her guinea pig. I'll pay more attention next time I hear Pet shop.
Saturday - Feb 13
The poor little fish died. I had nothing to do with it, I promise! Jordan had another game this morning. She did pretty good considering her arms still hurts. She and "her Guy," her daddy, went to the 50's bowling party tonight. They had a good time. I sent Jennifer to video some of it for me. I stayed home to make signs for her game on Tuesday. The girls are out of school until Tuesday, so I wouldn't have much time to get them done without her seeing them. Jordan had 2 friends spend the night. They stayed up until 3:00. They didnt seem tired, but I sure was.
Sunday - Feb 14
Jordan friends stayed until noon. They had a blast last night. They wanted to toilet paper Jennifer's room, but I knew she had had enough of that kind of play. Joe decided they could wrap his visiting friends truck. The guy had good sense of humor, thank goodness. They made a real mess of it. Jordan helped me blow up about sixty balloons to put out along the highway to Temple. I made about 25 signs to cheer the basketball team on. Jordan went to bed earlier than usual. The late night pooped her out.
Monday - Feb 15
Dr. C's office called early this morning and canceled Jordan appointment. I questioned the receptionist as to getting her blood work done and reducing her medication. She is suppose to get back with me. We would normally decrease the Prelone on the 1st of March but I felt that Dr. C wouldnt do that unless he had her blood test results.
Tuesday - Feb 16
After picking Jordan up at noon, we headed to Temple for the Big Game! Beginning at the school parking lot, Jordan and I hung our encouragement signs. We hung about 30 signs along with 60 balloons between the school and Temple. Once we arrived in Temple, Joe took Jordan to my little brothers to visit with his little boys. My mother and I went to the high school and decorated the parking lot, hung another 100 balloons around the large polls outside the gym entrance and stung some in the dressing room. Jennifer and her team were surprised and figured that it had to be me. (when given the time, I usually try to make signs or goodie bags for the team or cheerleading squad or what ever Jen participates in) The game was very exciting. We have about 20 relatives come to watch and a number of local fans. The score ended up 57 to 46. It was back and forth until the every end then our girls apparently tried to hard and lost it. Jordan had a great time helping watch the babies at the game. We didnt get home until 12:30 but it was worth it.
Wednesday - Feb 17
We are tired!!
Thursday - Feb 18
Jordan had a basketball game this afternoon. She played so good. She trys so hard to be the best. I am really proud of her.
Friday - Feb 19
Saturday - Feb 20
Jordan had another game this morning but I didnt get to make it. Everyone left before me and when I went to start the van, I had a dead battery. I'm sure the girls left on an overhead light again.

We took the girls to the San Antonio Livestock Show and Rodeo. They had a great time riding the carnival rides until it got so windy, we could hardly see. We left earlier than we had expected.

Sunday - Feb 21
I spent most of the day at the school preparing for a Department of Education audit. Jordan played around the house while her dad took care of the yard work.
Monday - Feb 22
Audited from 8:30 to 6:00. Went very well with no findings. Joe left early to coach Jordans 5:30 game. I got there a little after 6:00, watched the game and ran to the high school for a prom meeting. It wasnt over until 9:30, so by the time I got home, everyone was already in bed or about to go to bed.
Tuesday - Feb 23
I left work early today. Jennifer picked Jordan up and 4:30 after her UIL meeting. Jordan seemed extra glad to see me. I guess she missed me putting her in bed last night.
Wednesday - Feb 24
Thursday - Feb 25
Friday - Feb 26
Saturday - Feb 27
The tournament went well. The girls won the first game but lost the second. The were very proud even though they didnt fare as well has they could have. We all hated to see the season end because Jordan was having so much fun.
Sunday - Feb 28
We've had a great month and hope the next is just as good or better!
