March 1999

Monday - Mar 1
We did get to reduce Jordan's Prelone. He lab results came back good and Dr C's office called to inform us to give her only 1 ml a day. We will see him again on March 4.
Tuesday - Mar 2
Wednesday - Mar 3
Thursday - Mar 4
Dr. C was again happy to see how well Jordan is doing. He said to reduce her Prelone again on April 1 to 1/2ml. We will not need to see him again for 8 weeks. Jordan will have lab work done in 4 weeks, but she is doing so well, he doesnt need to see her so often. He also wrote a note to her school allowing her to resume regular PE. Jordan weighed in at 74 1/4 lbs. and is 51 inches tall. We hope she begins to grow real soon.
Friday - Mar 5
Jennifer made varsity cheerleader again. Tryouts were at 4:00, so after I picked Jordan up from school, we bought her some roses and made it to the school just as the girls were waiting outside for the results to be posted. The sponsor didnt get them up until about 7:15, but Jordan enjoyed the wait. She got to hangout with the high school girls....hahaha.
Saturday - Mar 6
We left for Fairfield state park early this morning for spring break. My mother and sister and her family were all there waiting for us. The drive was long, but well worth it. We had a great time.
Sunday - Mar 7
We celebrated Jordan's birthday as well as all of my sister's kids birthdays. All 6 kids were born between February and April and since we dont see them often, we had a party for everyone.
Monday - Mar 8
Jordan spent a lot of time riding her bike through long trails. She never seemed to tire. She slept at my sisters or mothers almost every night. Her father and I were practically ignored by her.....hehe

Happy Birthday Tammy! We love you!

Tuesday - Mar 9
During the day, the kids fished, rode bikes and played. At night, they roasted marshmellows, sat around the fire and played video games or watched movies. It rained only one day, so we had a pretty good vacation.
Wednesday - Mar 10
We left for home about 2:00. Jordan cried for at least an hour. She loves her cousins. Even though we were all very tired by the time we got home, we hated for the vacation to end.
Thursday - Mar 11
Happy Birthday Brittney! We love you!
Joey and his wife came over for a little while tonight. They are leaving for Cancun early in the morning. Its hard to believe that they have been married for almost a year. It seems like yesterday that he was a sweet loving little boy always looking after her sisters. I dont know where time goes.
Friday - Mar 12
Today my father would be 63 years old. He left us October 22, 1989. Jordan was just 18 months old, so unfortunately she doesnt remember him. I wished she had had more time with him. He was the perfect father and an even better grandfather. He loved his grandbabies. He used to say "babies are the best kind of people." He was so right. I wish everyone was lucky enough to have had a father like mine. He was my husbands best friend. He was everyones friend. He was my daddy. We miss him very much. I know he's spending time with God and wouldnt doubt that he had something to do with Jordan being healed. Happy Birthday Daddy. We love you very much!
Saturday - Mar 13
We rested some this weekend. I did get some signs painted for the snowcone stand the kids run. Joey & Joe painted the building and I made some snowcones to go on the side of the building.
Sunday - Mar 14
Joey and Tammy have been married 1 year today. I am so proud of him. He is such a good young man. They are both working full-time and are going to school full-time. He wants to become a highway patrolman. We'd rather him go into something less dangerous..............but he's got his mind made up at least for now.
Monday - Mar 15
Tuesday - Mar 16
Wednesday - Mar 17
Thursday - Mar 18
I went to an ARD meeting today for Jordan. They are taking her out of all special education programs. (physical therapy and adaptive PE) The school will monitor her for the next year to see that she continues to progress. Next year she will be attending a 3 story school. We are hoping this wont be a problem but the school administrator and staff said they would cooperate any way they can to see that Jordan has no problems.
Friday - Mar 19
Happy Birthday Trever & Treves! We love you!
We left about 6:00 to go to Lake Limestone to visit with Joe's family. His parents and all three of his brothers and their families came.
Saturday - Mar 20
The guys worked most of the day clearing the land while the rest of us relaxed and fished. Jordan was excited about catching a small fish. I took her picture with it.
Sunday - Mar 21
We got home about 9:00. Both Joe and the girls were tired. I tried to catch up on the laundry while they went to sleep early.
Monday - Mar 22
Jordan had an eye appointment today. Her vision hasnt changed, which is great news. However, he said, probably because of the prelone, she has developed a catarac in her left eye. It is very small and may go away or may never develop any more. We will check her again is 6 months. He told us not to worry about it because it was so small Some infants are born with them and they see no change is growth throughout their lives. Jordan should be off of the prelone by May 1, so we are hoping she will be as fortunate.
Tuesday - Mar 23
Happy Birthday Shutona! We love you!
Wednesday - Mar 24
I've just had time to check out this diary from the readers side of it. I have to take this time to tell my sweet Aunt Pat "THANK YOU!" You have done a wonderful job with all the graphics. I usually only have time to get into the file manager and seldom do I preview it, so I dont always know when you add all the cut little pictures. They are all so wonderful. Jordan is doing great and the pictures add to the excitement. Thank you very much. I dont know how I will ever repay you. I love you!

I also want to thank everyone who has emailed me or signed my guestbook. You are the encouragement I need to continue working on the diary. (Since Jordan is physcially able to do almost everything she wants, we stay pretty busy.) But, I am very glad to hear from each of you and I pray that those with JDMS will have the power of God and prayer to heal them. We have been so blessed and I know He can bless you too.

Thursday - Mar 25
Friday - Mar 26
Jennifer left for Houston about 3:00. We didnt leave until after 6:00. We had a surprise visit by my Aunt (my fathers oldest sister) and Uncle. I was so excited to see them. They were travel through on their way back home from a mini vacation. I hadnt seen them in sometime, so I didnt mind postponing our trip a bit. We made it to The Westin Galeria about 10:00. The girls had to be in their rooms at 10:30. Jordan was disappointed that she didnt get to "hang-out" with them.
Saturday - Mar 27
We met at Astroworld front gates at 12:00. Jennifer's squad was scheduled to perform at 5:00 and the JV squad at 3:00. They ran about 2 hours late, but Jenn's squad placed 4th. Not bad considering it was about the worst performance they had ever had. They were very disappointed since they had worked so hard. The were shocked they placed at all. Everyone rode rides most of the day. Jordan had a great time. We headed for home about 10:00. The weather was terrible. It poured on us most of the way. It was after 1:00 before we got home.
Sunday - Mar 28
Monday - Mar 29
Jordan came home complaining that her chest and upper and under arm hurt. We hope it is just from over-exercising at school. She played on a floor scooter that required her to push with her hands so that may have caused it.
Tuesday - Mar 30
She is still complaining about her pain. She says it's sharp pain between her shoulder blades and under arm. We may have to take her to the Dr. tommorrow.
Wednesday - Mar 31
We took her to our family Dr. He immediately said she has shingles. He prescribed Acyclovir(400mg, 5 times a day) We hate to give her so much medication. I called Dr. C's office to check on side-effects and usage. His office called back and said the prescription was correct and since it's contagious, I should keep her out of school the rest of the week. Its very painful so we got a prescription for Tylenol with Codine. I understand that shingles is uncommon among children but that since Jordan's immune system is weak, it's no surprise that she has it. Guess we've tackled much worse, so can't complain much.
