It's getting dark now, but you continue walking. The smell of meat rolls infects the air, and you remember how hungry you've gotten.

Walking into a huge weyr is a young man, looking to be about 18. Following close behind him is a huge kanine. The look on the kanine's face makes you wonder if you should go any closer.



The kanine starts barking at you. Turning around, the young man yells,"Who are you, and what are you doing here?"

"Just a traveller young man! I didn't mean any harm!" you answer, thinking the kanine will at any moment attack you.

Laughing, the young man answers,"No harm done! Please come in, and join us for something to eat." you walk towards the weyr, still half worried about the kanine.

Handing you some meat rolls, the young man say,"My name is Kase, and this is Trenal. He's a wild one, but he seems to listen to me. I'm waiting to see if I can immpress a dragon from Gallimim Weyr." brushing his thick brown hair out of his green eyes, he feeds Trenal a few of the meat rolls.

Trenal's ears perk up, looking outside the huge weyr. He starts barking wildly. "Trenal, no! Stay!" Kase yells, as he goes to see what it is. Walking back in, Sapphire is pouncing at his feet.



"Oh Sapphire." you laugh, reaching down the pet the tiny feline you met hours ago. Trenal doesn't seem amused by all this, and starts to growl.

"Trenal, you wild kanine you, calm down." lighing a torch, the whole weyr is revealed to you. You blink hard, as dozens of fire lizards chirp and fly out of the weyr. Two stay behind, and perch on Kase's shoulder.



"These are my beauties, Cherop and Isis." the little fire lizards chirp happily. "I came from a farmer family, and was told I had to be a farmer too. I didn't think that was what I was meant to do, so for a long time I did nothing. But when I got Cherop, I knew dragonriding was what I wanted to do. The little beauty said that's what I was best at. So here I am, waiting to see if I can impress a hatchling.



Storming into the weyr flies Twich, chirping angerly at Sapphire. "That's Jewel's little blue. Must have come to tell Sapphire to go back." Cherop and Isis stir, flaping their wings with all their might. All the other fire lizards return to the weyr, and Trenal howls at the sight. Sapphire calls to you, scared almost to death. You can't help but laugh at the sight of them. You pick up Sapphire and run, yelling to Kase,"I'll be back someday!"

Safely out of the hectic weyr, you set Sapphire down, hearing Kase yelling at the top of his lungs at Trenal and the fire lizards. Thinking to yourself, you laugh as Sapphire follows Twich back to Jewel's weyr.
