I have just seen today's (7 Oct 1998) Daily Mirror and was horrified to see that Sophie has lost weight! It's sad to see her turning from a voluptuous goddess into yet another anorexic clone. We love your curves Soph', leave the sharp angles to the stick insects!

I was so relieved when Sophie became famous, making me feel that I too can do what she did! But I was disgusted to read in a mag today that Sophie has been dieting and working out and is now a size 12! I am not impressed, what sort of role model is she? She makes all us big girls feel good about our size and then gives in to the pressures of fame and drops the weight that she was so famous for. I think she's now a bad role model for bigger women, she obviously couldn't handle the pressure and has given in to the waif look.

Webmaster's note: I don't think that Sophie will ever become a waif, however losing or gaining weight is entirely her choice and this site will be dedicated to her, no matter what she does with her appearance.

I can't beleive Sophie still has only one web page.

I read somewhere that she is related to (the granddaughter of ?) Roald Dahl, the author of some rather popular children's books (most notable Willy Wonka and the Chocolate Factory, and more recently "Matilda"). He also writes some pretty wierd adult books.

I mention this only because I'm surprised I didn't see it on your info page. Let me know if what I heard is true - can't remember where I heard it.

I am writing to enquire about Sophies weight! If she is 5 11", like we've been told, how on earth can she way a mere 9 stone!! I havn't weighed 9 stone since I was about 13 and I'm a "bigger" model. Can someone please find out her correct weight as I find it very hard to believe a girl as big as Sophie can be only 9 stone! Thanks Luv from 13 stone (and counting) bigger model

Just surfed into your brilliant website and I am really impressed. I saw Sophie last week at the Met Bar. Looking as beautiful as ever. Even though I'm slim myself, I think her looks are really stunning. She just smoulders!!

After literally months of fruitless searching I finally found a Website devoted to the luscious Sophie Dahl! I'm looking forward to your site expanding and hopefully going from strength to strength.

I love voluptuous women, and Sophie is a goddess. If I find any pictures of her I'll scan and email them to you for inclusion.

Do you have any plans to feature other larger women on your site? The magazine where the "Modern Curves" image came from usually has some beautiful models in it.

You should replace the stats on Sophie. She's turning 21 this month and she's 5'11. She doesn't have a dog and she's has certainly never slept with Mark Lamarr (as if!). They know each other socially.

I just finished writing a paper on the effects of the waif look on young women. Research shows that it has contributed to anorexia. I feel that Sophie Dahl is representing a change in the way the fashion industry shows women. I think its great. She is beautiful.

Thank you soooooooo... much for paying tribute to a model that looks more like me. She is an example of a body type that is hard to find in any magazine since she is neither rail thin or plus-size and has a chest! I have begun to appreciate what I have because of her. Amazing. A beautiful woman who's not a waif! This girl gives me inspiration. Now I know that I too can be a model without having to worry about my weight. Although I'm not as large as Sophie, I have a petite hour glass figure and a great face (*sigh* I don't mean to sound conceided or anything, so please don't think I'm full of myself.
